Our Verdict
Previously the highest bonus has been 50,000 points. This is 10,000 points less, but does come with the Amazon Prime membership. We haven’t seen the 50,000 bonus in some time. Points are worth 1¢ each.
Navy Federal is only available for military and veterans – full eligibility information can be found here (plus family members. Even if they are deceased). Keep in mind that joining NFCU is a hard pull, it’s possible you’ll land up with two hard pulls if you join and signup for the card, but hopefully those will be combined. I can confirm Prime annual fee is covered on subsequent years. The logic I saw on Reddit is the annual fee for Prime will be covered until NFCU removes it as a Flagship CC sign-up incentive, and the current terms state "Limit of one promotional offer per card per year." Amazon Prime for $49 (the Flagship AF) is worth it to me.
8/1 signed up for a new annual subscription to Prime after a couple week hiatus
8/4 -$139 Prime charge posted to CC
8/8 $139 "Rewards from Nfcu Amazon Prime Membership Credit"
The hiatus was probably unnecessary, but I wanted to try for the $15 from TopCashBack. Looks like it didn't track anyway. I tried to submit an ticket/inquiry at TCB, and their system will not allow Amazon complaints. Interesting. I will just let it go. I will reply if that status cashback changes. @guest_1844339
NFCU is mailing out via USPS targeted 40K point offers. Requires $4K spend in 90 days.

Expires 9/30 @2
Interesting. I can't say it's significantly more interesting to me than the current normal offer. Get $350 if you spend $3500 in 90 days, or get $400 if you spend $4000 within 90 days. Just like the $500/ $5kspend offer referenced in a recent comment. It's all still 10% cash back at the end of the day.
Sort of. I think most people like to go for the biggest bonus, but NFCU is not particularly friendly to bank account funding (doesn't necessarily count as purchase, even if not charged a cash advance fee). That said, I could understand going with whatever offer best fits your planned spending.
Off-topic, I just renewed Prime on 8/1 after a three-week hiatus, after paying my CC $49 AF. Hoping the $139 gets refunded. So far, not seeing tracking on Topcashback for the $15. $139 is still pending though. I will post the end result.
Looks like they refunded the $139 for Prime AF again, but I won't know for sure until the statement closes. Right now, in online banking, it looks weird. Currently it looks like I had a positive balance of $139 last month (which I didn't, because if I did, I wouldn't have paid the $49 AF and would have them issue me a check for the balance). Now that the Prime charge posted, it's a $0 balance. But, my available credit is still dinged by the $139.
Now online banking shows the Prime fee was charged, and no longer showing the errant $139 credit.
Looking back, last year it took about a week for the credit to appear.
July 17, 2024 -$139 AMAZON PRIME
July 24, 2024 $139 "Payment to Amazon Prime - 1234
NFCU AMAZON PRIME CREDIT Vienna 22"
This year, it posted on 8/4. I'll report back what happens.
Thanks, shame it's targeted.
Had a 50k point/$5k spend in 3 month preapproval email sent around July 2, 2025. Already a member with savings and a CD. Subject was "Congrats <name>! You're Preapproved for Flagship"
Went ahead and signed up. TU pull. Hopefully I get the 'instant' card number email so I can start using it. Reddit posts seem to imply some get an email about an 'instant' number about 24 hours after approval, some don't.
Nice! I guess that's a targeted offer.
Has anybody had this card long enough to find out if the free year of Amazon Prime is just for the first year or annually?
Many many people have received it every year.
You sure can't tell that from the comments on this thread. Have you personally received it for more than one year?
The last time I had this card was before they added the Amazon Prime benefit. Not sure why people in this thread would be experiencing different things than what has been reported elsewhere.
I keep flip-flopping on what I want to do about this as my Annual Fee is due, and Prime is about to end too. Today, reading over the Flagship terms closely, it does look like a continuous annual benefit, AS LONG AS NFCU continues to offer it as an incentive.
Per terms at https://www.navyfederal.org/loans-cards/credit-cards/flagship-visa-signature.html
Note 2 Offer applies only to annual Amazon Prime memberships. Not valid for recurring membership monthly payment option or Amazon Prime Student. Offer valid for your Visa Signature® Flagship Rewards credit card and is not transferable. Limit of one promotional offer per card per year. Please allow 6–8 weeks after the membership is renewed or opened for the statement credit to post to your account. Navy Federal reserves the right to end or modify this offer at any time without notice...
I think I am going to try for it. If it doesn't work, NFCU will probably refund or prorate my AF, and Prime would probably do the same and refund the remaining months, I hope.
Since I never did the $15 back via TopCashBack offer for new Amz Prime subscription (because I was unaware), I plan to cancel Prime before the renewal, then signup via TCB. Go big or go home! @guest_2051453
The terms on the site changed now. They state “Limit of one promotional offer per card per year” so may be annually now
The site now shows this in the terms: "Limit of one promotional offer per card per year."
Is the free year of Amazon Prime available every year or only the first year that you have the card?
The way it's worded it is only the first year, and previous iterations of the offer specified a date by which you had to make the charge to get the credit. There is some ambiguity in the fine print so I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't count on it working again
Forgot to unfreeze TU when applying, app went pending and got a notice that a hard inquiry was blocked.
Unfroze it and applied again but that one just went pending too, seemingly without trying to auto-approve (system probably recognized it as a dupe), didn't pull TU. Later in the day got hit with inquiry on Experian instead. Still did not pull TU, I assume the app is moving along, being manually processed now.
Link shows an updated offer that does not expire until Jan. 01, 2026
Get a new Flagship credit card, and you could earn 35,000 bonus points (a $350 value) when you spend $3,500 within 90 days of opening your account.Footnote 2
And, score a free year of Amazon Prime®Footnote 3 (a $139 value).
SUB went down from 40k points to 35k points. Offer expires 3/31/25. I'm assuming that we shouldn't expect the higher offer to return, at least until April. @6 @2
@6 @2 - seems like the 40k offer maybe won't be coming back. Still stuck at 35k.
