Our Verdict

Public bonus is currently 100,000, broken down as follows:

  • 50,000 points after $5,000 in spend within the first three months
  • An additional 50,000 points after you spend an additional $10,000 within the first three months

So this is basically an extra 50,00 points for another $5,000 in spend, I think most people would be happy with 10x Membership Rewards per dollar spent, plus whatever you’d normally earn as well. Previously these 150,000 point targeted offers only required a total spend of $15,000 instead of $20,000. Might be worth waiting for one of these super bonuses as you’re limited to one American Express bonus per lifetime. I’d recommend reading this post for more rules and information about American Express cards.
