The Offer
- Signup for a new Amex Blue Cash Everyday credit card and receive a $250 signup bonus after spending $1,000 within 3 months.
This card usually offers just $100 bonus. You can get this offer to show by going to the above link (or directly on the Amex website) in a non-cookied browsing session, such as incognito. If you are in your regular browser which you use for your Amex login, it won’t show.
The Fine Print
- No annual fee
- If you got the bonus for this card in the past, you can not get the bonus a second time
- You can only have a max of 4 Amex credit cards at a time (charge cards don’t count toward that limit)
- 3% cashback on groceries, up to $6,000 per year, 2% cashback on gas, 1% on everything else
Our Verdict
Just a few moments ago we posted about a similar offer of 25,000 points for the Amex Everyday card; now it’s come to our attention that a similar offer is being made for the Blue Cash card. The Blue Cash offer requires just $1,000 in spend while the Everyday card requires $2,000 in spend.
Clearly, Amex is trying to target a certain customer base with these offers. In any case, it’s nice to see lots of high-bonus offers on credit cards.
- Other things to keep in mind about Amex:
- Amex won’t match a higher signup bonus as a matter of policy, but they will often give goodwill points upon request
- Amex combines inquiries, even personal and business
- Amex Reconsideration Number
- You should only get a soft pull for a denied application with Amex

I already have a BCE that I downgraded to from a Preferred after getting that bonus. A) Do you think they would approve me for a second BCE? B) I never received a bonus on the BCE, just the Preferred, so I should be able to get the bonus if they do approve me, right?
Don't rely on this but I think you can get the bonus if they'll approve you. Not sure about whether they'll approve a second though.
Follow up:
A rep. on Live Chat told me today that I can absolutely apply for a card identical to one I already own. I went ahead and applied and was approved after a phone call to confirm it was really me applying (probably because I did it through a proxy to get the $250 offer to show up).
I also applied for the Green and Gold cards with the 25,000 offers going on right now to maximize the hard pull and was approved for both as well. Very pleased!
I have recently applied for and approved for American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card in July, applied and approved SPG personal card in Aug end, SPG buss card is in pending status(they are saying it is in review).... is it safe to apply for this card... why I am asking is it is back to back from 2 months... wondering it is safe to apply or not.
Hey I have a noobie question.
I recently got my first credit card under my own name (I was an authorized user under my moms card).
I got the Capital One Quicksilver but had some issues with the bank. I opened a checking and savings account at the same time when applying for the card. The bank called me and had to do some additional verification about my identity so I had to scan my social security card for them and I was on a conference call with them and my previous bank, the bank then had to tell capital one that I had an account with them.
Now I have the card and everything is fine, but I do want to apply for this AMEX card, should everything go smoothly now or should I expect more headaches with this application? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
As long as your info on your credit report is what you are filling in for the application there is usually no issues.
Do you know what your score it ?
It states:
If you are identified as a current or former American Express® Card Member, this offer may not be available to you.
Which makes me nervous as I already have the Blue Cash Prefered Card, not sure if I will qualify for the $250 credit.
When I received my card, I called AMEX to verify that I would get the $250 bonus deal. I am an existing cardholder also, but my card is a Skymiles Options. They said no problem.
This is a great deal for this card!
I applied for this card a week ago!
I called and asked if I can get this promotion, they told me since my application was sent during the 100$ promotion I don't qualify for this one.
To my question, should I try and call again? Has anyone have luck with this before?
Any data points on if Amex allows you to move credit from existing cards to get a new one?
I received a $150 bonus earlier in the year for the Blue Cash Preferred card. Am I eligible for this bonus as well?
Yes, considered a separate product.
William are you sure it states:
"If you are identified as a current or former American Express® Card Member, this offer may not be available to you."
Damn was just going to take a break from applications for a while with a house purchase coming up in a few years....$250 cash for 1k in spend is very tempting though...decisions decisions!
Just chatted online and asked to be matched, no luck here. He said he was general customer care and couldn't match the offer. He gave me a number 800-528-4800 to call.
I generally don't like to deal with customer service over the phone unless I had to, so I might just pass on that one. Please let me know if any of you has luck.
