Becoming A Member
To become a member, you need to fall into one of the following categories:
- I am an employee or retiree of NASA Headquarters, any NASA Center or Facility, or NAS.
- I am an employee or a member of one of 900 NASA Federal Credit Union partner companies or associations.
- I am a relative or household member of a current NASA Federal Credit Union member.
- Help me open an account another way. A complimentary membership to the National Space Society (NSS) entitles you to join NASA FCU.
Obviously anybody can do the last option, it’s free and basically just requires you to receive e-mail updates by the NSS. I think you need to become a member before signing up for the ePremier checking account to be eligible for this offer, but I’m not 100% sure.
Our Verdict
Nice offer with a little bit of credit card funding, no hard pull and no direct deposit requirement. We’ll be adding this to our list of the best bank account bonuses for sure. If you have any experience with this credit union, let us know in the comments below.

Looks like the NSS is $20 per year? How to get complimentary membership?
Hmm, I'm getting a "The data you have entered does not match what we have on file. Please double check your information and if the problem persists call 1-888-NASA-FCU." when trying to enter the promo code: ZQPCN4.
As others have mentioned, it looks like it appears to be only available for residents of DC, MD and GA
Anyone else having issues getting on the National Space Society (NSS) site?
I am trying to join to be eligible for the bonus but no luck so far. I've tried http://www.nss.org/join as well as http://www.nss.org/
It seems it is only available for Georgia, Maryland and DC residents
Looks like some other sites have a code listed for this. It also is listed as being a targeted offer and for a limited geographic area.
I found a code but it appears to be targeted.
It requires a promo code to proceed. Any idea what it is?
Good find, DOC! I wish the sign up bonus was a little higher or the credit card funding amount was a little higher, then I would be all over this promo.
