I got Marriott points for my birthday last year! I think it was just 1k points but every little bit helps.
I only got 300 points, but what the heck, I've spent time chasing smaller amounts (and it's 100 SPG points!)
Marriott gave me a night credit last year but they didn't this year for bday.
I just checked my IHG account. I applied last year on May 7th.
To my surprise, there is an unrestricted free night in my account dated April 30th. The expiration date is May 10th, 2019. Yeah.
I got a free elite night credit on my birthday, which is awesome since I am going for 50.

The DP specified that the cert was issued on Apr 30th, which is still before the unrestricted night cert cutoff of May 1st. Therefore, I don't think that DP means anything. What we need are DPs of certs that are issued after May 1st.
