The Fine Print

  • Valid only online at Walmart.com
  • Valid until 7/31/2017
  • Excludes online gift card reloads, corporate gift card purchases (this explains what these are), phone orders, product care & tech support plans, Vudu purchases, and box subscriptions.

Our Verdict

Update: Seems a lot of gift card orders are being cancelled currently. Read the comments for the latest on this.

Best use is normal purchases as always. Remember to go through a portal to get an additional 7% cash back (gift cards excluded). You can resell Walmart.com gift cards for 90% of facevalue (you can find their own branded gift cards here), you’d be making $5 per card you have this on. They also sell a wide variety of third party gift cards found here. Personally I think the deal is best just used for the Walmart gift card reselling angle or for Walmart purchases themselves, 20% off on other gift cards is nice but they don’t get much more valuable than Walmart in my opinion.

  • I ordered 1 physical wm GC followed by 4 repeat orders the next day. All 5 shipped. I do order from wm online occasionally.

  • Placed 4 orders for 4 physical GC (1. Chick Fil A 2. Regal Cinemas 3. WM 4. WM)

    The last WM GC order got canceled.

    Can I try it again, or is my AmEx offer used up at this point?

    • Ordering again should be fine. I had the same issue with an eGC. You won't get the Amex email again though.

  • Anyone know how many different cards you can use to split payment at the register if you are just purchasing normal stuff?

    I have this on 4 cards and would like to just buy something I've been wanting to buy that costs $200+ and split it over the 4 amexs

    • In store, you can split payment up to 4 credit cards. But I don't believe there's an option to split payment online, which is what this promotion is for - walmart dot com purchases only.

  • I ordered some misc stuff on first order (created account)

    Ordered 7 $50 WM GC's afterwards 7 different cards.

    Got email from wallmart that they tried reaching me by phone and said I should respond to email confirming I made these purchases, which I did.
    Got confirmation from them with fed ex tracking numbers that they were shipped.

  • So I ordered a $50 physical WalMart GC yesterday and it was approved. I got the Congrats Amex email, and the charge has now posted. But I went to see what other cards I saved the Walmart offer on and now they have all disappeared. Even the one that I had on my Amex Plat and got the "congrats you've used the Amex Offer" has disappeared. It isn't in the saved or Used tab.

    This happen to anyone else? I wanted to order another GC on another card, but not until I see if this gets straightened out.

  • I just ordered the Walmart gift card three times, but all got canceled. I have contacted Amex, but they said my transaction got approved from their end. Any suggestions to my case?
