The Fine Print

  • Valid until October 31st, 2016
  • Must enroll in this offer to be eligible, no public hashtag currently available

Our Verdict

Last time they offered the airline offer it was spend $300, get $75 back so not quite as good. I guess you might be able to stack this with the Delta offer as well (spend $1,000 and get $200 back).

  • Can you buy a fully refundable ticket and then cancel it say 6 months later and still keep the statement credit?

    • I don't know about flights, but the last time Amex had an offer for Amtrak I bought a refundable ticket that I ended up needing to cancel. The refund went back to my Amex, and Amex also clawed back the original offer credit.

  • The offer doesnt show up on your charge cards plat or gold. They already have the credit. I am almost sure thats the case unless sometime tells us they got it on their plat or gold. Lucky them.

  • Does anyone know if this will work with United MileagePlus X and buying a $300 Amazon gift card?

  • Ther terms do not exclude gift cards, only the following: (i) Charter flights and private jet flights; (ii) any flight purchased as part of a vacation package or though a third party (including agents for travel suppliers); (iii) Sky Mall purchases and (iv) Boingo wireless internet purchases.

  • 0/2 in SC. I do have spend $500 get $80, but this is only on prepaid hotel stays through amex travel
