  • In the past, other cards have had the same offer, but for 1,500 Membership Rewards points instead.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid online at HappyCards.com US website only.
  • Excludes authorized retailers, purchases shipped outside of the US, gift cards purchased in bulk and other Blackhawk Network brands.

Our Verdict

This works on any Happy card making it somewhat of a broad deal as these cards can be used at a wide variety of retailers.

  • Don't forget to check cashbackmonitor. As of the date of this comment, Simply Best Coupons offered 3% cash back for HappyCards.com.

  • Just bought 1, coded as "BLACKHAWK NETWORK GIFTCARDS", didn't trigger any Amex offer emails

    • I did this deal back in December. It coded as Blackhawk and I got the "Great News!" email from Amex the same day. I've occasionally had Amex offers work without the email.

      • Did it, didn't get the email, but $15 credit posted a couple of days later. Amex seems to be slacking off on those emails. I've been doing lots of $1 reloads of my Amazon gift card balance (need 30 purchases per statement on my Everyday Preferred), and they've stopped sending me emails about the +5 points offer. I used to get one for every reload.

      • What exactly does "in general" mean in this case?
It should be a yes or no answer.

        • "In general" means that it will work if the cashier lets you do it. I've never had a problem buying a gift card with a Happy card even after this language was added. I just make sure not to show the cashier how I'm paying. Just swipe the card and get it out of sight.

  • Looks like Dell and Home Depot are no longer available as partners.

Also, I'd be worried about a lot of those other stores going bankrupt of you don't have an immediate use for the card...

  • Got it on my Green $15 and my Everyday 1500 pts. None on my BBP. Will likely pass.

  • Not seeing on Blue Business Plus. Also only seeing the $15 off offer, even on a variety of MR-earning cards.
