Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

MyWallet free checking has no monthly fees to worry about.

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find any EATF in the fee schedule

Our Verdict

Nice that you can get $50 of the bonus without a direct deposit just in case work arounds don’t work. As always share your experiences in the comments below.

  • I was approved and received a welcome letter in the mail. Apparently the account was closed one day after it was opened (so theoretically the same day the welcome letter went out?) due to Chex. There was no communication about this (I check everything constantly) and I only found out because I wanted to see if my real direct deposit posted. Now I'm waiting to get a paper check from HR. iThink you should skip this one.

  • P1 and P2 accounts still look to be open.
P1 received SM via email on Aug 6 that their account could not be opened due to CHEX history.

Not sure If we should do any of the deposits to P2's account.

    • Update both accounts closed an hour ago don’t see a refund for initial $500 CC purchase. Hopefully it goes back to the card. Strange as I even got a welcome letter in the mail. Lots of miscommunication from this one.

      • Second update a check with the initial $500 deposit showed up today along with another Chex decline letter.

  • STAY AWAY. What a waste of time. They WILL open your account only to close it a couple days later without notice (lock you out of online banking unable to access your funds) and send you a secure email about your CHEX and DENY you even after opening it and charging (and keeping the $$$$) Now I must wait for them to send me the $$$
So, all those claiming they were LOL/24 and giddy they "got in" are now receiving their shutdowns.

  • Signed up and approved in Lake County. Eligibility I chose worship, work, or school in Orange County.
No $50 in account yet. I'm waiting to see it before I go for the $75.

  • P1 and P2 opened in Central FL. Seeing updates about closure a day later so will see what happens...

    • P1 no mesage yet.
P2 got a secure message but all it said was welcome, here are some helpful links...

    • They just sent me a protected email too but it said they can’t open my account? Nothing there about closing it and the account is already open that’s weird.

  • After being approved yesterday I received an email telling me they closed my account due to Chex.

    • Same, but I still have access to my online account and both checking and savings account appear there. Will probably lose access later on.

      • Did everyone here have high Chex stats? Recent inquires? Really close to branch? There was a question on the app if this will be your main bank account did you all click yes? Trying to figure out if it’s just Chex.

    • Oh no man sorry to hear that that’s concerning then for the rest of us they’re scrutinizing accounts.

  • Unfroze Chex after getting denied for Chex and approved in SFL with very LOL/24 maybe 40-50+? $500 in capital one charge pending it appears you could go quite high on funding did not want to try it. Mobile app is quite clunky

  • can I open at a grow financial location? it looks like they are sharing location? or only at the main branch?

    • No, it would have to be at a Think location. Shared branches aren't really shared - they just have access to each other's accounts.
