- Veridian Credit Union is offering a $300 bonus when you open a new premium checking account and complete the following requirements in months 4, 5, 6, 7 after account opening:
- Requires 15 debit card purchases averaging at least $10 each month (Transactions must settle and post to the associated card account between the first day of the month and the second to last day of the month.)
- Requires direct deposit of your net income of $250 or more each month
- Enroll in online banking or the Veridian mobile app
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
These accounts have no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.
Our Verdict
Bit annoying how this is structured as you need to remember to do the requirements in months 4-7. We also don’t know if it’s a hard or soft pull or if this bank is chexsystems sensitive. Please share your experiences below.

5/20 - Applied for P2 with Chex frozen.
5/21 - Got email requesting for SSN card copy.
Approved with in 10 mins.
Used CIU of P2 for $530 of total charge ($5 donation, $5 savings, $520 checking). This is the max one can achieve. I tried all the combinations and this is the max amount one can get through credit card.
Tried chatting after the denial, they just say I'd have to go in branch to get it sorted. Think I'm just going to wait until I move and then try again if it's still around.
New bank bonus denial reason unlocked. My funding credit card (Synch 2%) fraud trigger was tripped and thus I was declined due to
The reason for being declined:
Called in to see if I could fund it again, but rep said it wasn't possible. Rep said to apply again, and it worked with the same Synch card.
New wrinkle I just realized opening an account on 19th/20th of month, is that it's almost impossible to get DD and 15x debit card usages in by the 30th. Wonder if they waive the first partial month in a scenario like this?
Ah, only need to hit those metrics in months 4-7 each. Whew!
You don’t have to meet the requirements this month. Only months 4 - 7 are required for the bonus.
5/19 - P2 applied OOS, ~10:45am; did DL + selfie ID verification during application; app under review
5/20 - 10am, email requesting SS card; uploaded via secure link immediately after email arrived
approval email came ~10 min later
I'm planning to apply tomorrow morning. Tested the beginning part of the application and choosing eligibility via "I have immediate family who are members", but then it asks in which of 3 states (Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota) that family member lives/works. Not in those states, so the $5 HfH donation route it will be.
Thanks. I was looking for P2 membership answer.
5/19 - Applied OOS from VA around noon time.
5/20 - Received request for additional docs (SSA Card) by 11am.
Approval email received with in 5 minutes of uploading the doc.
Now thinking whether I should apply for P2 or not based on how they are trying to tag people as FRAUD.
Also, can confirm the $510 for donation+savings+checking seems to be coded as a purchase. Used my CIU.
Did you mean to write $505 or did you fund with an extra $5?
I put $5 for Donation, $5 for Savings account and $500 for premium checking. So, that made my total $510 which was charged as single transaction on my CIU.
I think that I was the 1st person to mention trying $505 instead of the $500 that is stated on the site. Now you have upped the ante!
I wonder if anyone is brave enough to try for $515.
So just got approved for P2. I found out the max one could achieve and that’s $530 including the donation. I put $5 for donation, $5 for savings, $520 for checking.
Haha. I think I will test it out on P2
IL OOS approved. Was asked to upload SS card yesterday. Approved today with $505 funding with CFU coding as purchase
P2 also approved today after uploading proof of address and SS card yesterday. Used same card to fund
Just approved OOS in OR, Chex frozen, TU temp. unfreeze. Applied two days ago, did the plaid verification, and application went to review. Yesterday was asked to upload a copy of SSN card, and this morning got the approval message and $500 charged to my BoA Alaska Visa Signature which coded as purchase. Enrolled in online banking and was able to access my accounts.
When you applied did you get id verification questions at some point during the app?
Same, no ID questions for P1 or P2
Did you mention P2 as having "an immediate family person (P1) as member" or used the donation route to get the membership?
Donation route
Thanks for answering. Another DP also mentioned having some issues with selecting states from the mentioned 3 if you select immediate family member option. So donation route makes sense.
They didn't ask you to upload the front and back of your Driver's license and take a selfie during the application?
When you mean ID verification questions, I thought you meant when they soft pull your credit then ask questions (ie what address have you lived at previously?).
I used my passport and selfie yes
Thanks for the last part of answer :)
@guest_2063159,
@guest_2063480 is a different person than the person that asked that question. 😉
Oh lmao, my bad lol
I don't recall answering id verification questions during my application.
Thanks DoC! Applied from OOS for the Premium checking yesterday (did live images of DL and selfie). Used a debit card for initial funding for checking $150, savings $5, and donation $5. Today received an email letting upload SSN card. And the account is just now approved open. Plan to try fake dds firstly before the real ones from my employer. Hopefully can find an easy way for the 15X$10 debit card purchases monthly.
If anyone who gets denied follows up, let us know the results. The denial email lists that you can call or live chat them to discuss membership
Denied due to “fraud” (apparently there’s some issue for me, the id verification questions never popped up during the application- csr said to try reapplying with tu thawed from the start but still didn’t get any questions. When I called back the rep said my new app was in queue and they’d call me with any issues (I’d only get an automated email if I was approved, and otherwise it would be a conversation before making a decision to reject) but I just got another auto-rejection email today. Going to try calling again to request more info, but not looking good, they said I’d probably have to visit a branch in person if I was rejected again online.
Thanks! Maybe I'll retry sometime on a different connection or something.
