Does NoVa work?
This post has incorrect information. There is a $50 fee for early termination, which they define as ONE YEAR - not 180 days.
"Early Closure Fee: A $50 early close-out fee will be imposed if the account is closed within one year of opening."
So this is technically a $250 bonus if they actually enforce the $50 ETF. Wondering once bonus post and we bring acct balance to $0 then request closure if they will hit us with the fee afterwards. 🤔
In the application, it states:
Is there another reason this is listed as MD only?
Because this is an old post with very few DPs. Every location is in MD, they might just assume from that.
There's a new $300 one here: https://www.harfordbank.com/Special-Elite-Checking-Account
It says in instructions to open the account in-branch, but doesn't specify beyond that. It's possible to open an account on their website, so I wonder if the promo would be honored online as well. Given there's no promo code to put in, might be worth it for a local to reach out and ask.
@2
I am awaiting a response. I am located about 30 min from a branch, but I'd rather save 2 hours of my life if I can get it done online.
I'll update next week.
following. im about the same distance
Still no response - I reached out again
Did you hear back?
@guest_2023983 Literally just today they finally returned my calls/emails.
You have to go in-person to a branch for this SUB
harco rise up 😂
Looks like there is an inescapable $5 fee to close the account, which sounds shady. Closest office is about 50 minutes drive. I've never heard of them, I'm LOL/3mo on Chex...
Anyone got any experience with this bank?
