  • U$X Federal Credit Union is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new FREE Checking or Members Plus Checking and complete the following requirements:
    • Receive a direct deposit (employer net check direct deposit) within 60 days of account opening. If you don’t have an employer that offers a direct deposit you must deposit a minimum of $500 per month into the checking account

The Fine Print

  • To receive the $100.00 cash bonus for direct deposit, employer net check direct deposit must start within 60 days of new account opening.
  • Members who have employers that don’t offer direct deposit must deposit a minimum of $500.00 per month into the checking account.
  • USX FCU will determine if this requirement is being met by evaluating the deposit history.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees to worry about.

Early Account Termination Fee

If the account is closed within 90 days you have to pay a $25 fee.

Our Verdict

Relatively low bonus and it seems like they might check to ensure you’re depositing your full pay. We need to know if it’s a soft pull to open, but even if it is it isn’t a great bonus so most likely won’t be adding to the best checking bonus page. As always please share your experiences with this bank in the comments below.

  • Their unpronounceable name kinda bothers me, lol. (Okay, I see from their URL that the dollar sign is just a substitute for "S", making it a normal acronym. But still.)
