Always nice to see an easy bonus like this. CIT Bank frequently has savings offers, it’s also nice that this works for existing eChecking account holders. We will add this to our best bank account bonuses.

  • Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.cit.com/cit-bank/echecking/ec2025" on this server.

  • The CIT website is currently unavailable due to system maintenance.

    We're sorry for the inconvenience.

    • I wouldn't worry about it. It shows the following for me.

"The CIT website is currently unavailable due to system maintenance. We're sorry for the inconvenience."

  • I was declined when I applied for the recent saving account promo.

When I apply and am approved for this checking account, will it increase the chance of approval for future saving account promo, if any again?

Or considering that I was denied for the saving account, will I likely be declined for this checking as well?

    • Are you a current CIT customer? If not, you need to unfreeze your Chex before applying. You might also need to unfreeze your credit reports as many FIs do a soft pull on 1 or more of your credit reports.

  • P1 opened in 5 minutes, a year ago I had a saving account with them, P2 declined, had no relationship with them

  • Awesome find. Existing CIT customer that got the $300 savings bonus last month.

Seems like a decent checking account with the $30 in ATM fees reimbursed each month, especially as somebody with none of the big boy banks (Chase, Wells, etc.) at the moment.

  • auto-rejection, no explanation given (initially applied in incognito browser chex frozen, rep said they thought that was why and that i'd need to thaw chex- did so, and still auto-declined)

    • apparently auto-rejection (twice!) in 2025 was because of the account they closed in 2018 (which was never adequately explained to me but appears to be because i opened a couple accounts at other banks shortly after opening with them), i'm indefinitely blocked from ever opening anything with them, no appeal, no explanation. absolutely bizarre, i guess i'll continue to take my business elsewhere and at least i didn't waste a chex pull on them. stay away from cit, they're trash

      • Let me offer you this should it help. I believe all the bigger banks are like this today. If you make what they consider a large enough faux pas, their security wing may hold it against you for years. My little indiscretion with Citi Bank many years ago resulted in an initial notification not to apply for accounts with them for the next 10 years, followed by a second one saying forever. Yet they solicit me to open both bank and credit cards accounts incessantly to this day. Go figure.

    • looks like my chex wasn't pulled at least? might try again after citi next month if this offer is still around
