Nice big bonus, unfortunately we don’t know if it’s a hard or soft pull to open.

  • Applied online and got stuck because they want to do a hard pull on my TU report.
Decided to not move forward with it because I don't want the HP.

  • Have visited the local branch of PB a couple times over the last couple weeks to deposit cash, via "shared branch" network, into my ETF/Liberty 3.3% checking acct. Pleasant, if brief, experiences. I don't have enough on hand to also take advantage of PB's 3% account, but I might later after I finish current Chase & Citi bonuses.

I may try for this one although I do worry about Chex. I wish it could be online so the potential rejection will sting less. 8-) I also hope they don't judge me too harshly if they review Chex while I'm sitting there in front of them...

  • I did this bonus last time around. If you have your original social security card they will not do a hard pull, otherwise it is a transunion pull. They paid right at the 45 day mark if all conditions were met.

I kept it open as they have 3% checking on up to $10k with 12 debits and a DD of $400. I know 3% is not great now, but it was pretty good when I opened in January.

They also have a free secure shred event on 10/22. Good way to get rid of the bank and credit card opening paperwork we get!

  • DP
    Opened account 1/3/2022
1/10-2/1 - Did real DD, did amazon reloads for debit purchases, signed up for e-statements
2/17/2022 - $275 deposited into saving account in four chunks - $50, $25, $100, $100. So they paid right when they reviewed the account at 45 days.

  • Definitely some confusion in-branch today from the employees whether or not you could use this promo without having received a mailer or an email.

      • I do not think so. I do not do crazy bonus volume but I opened 14 bank accounts last year and they still had no difficulty signing me up.

      • Went to open today. At first the person helping me said it would be a hard pull through TransUnion to verify my identity. The manager walked by and said that no hard pull would be required if I showed my original social security card. I did not have it on me but will stop in next week with it to open the account. So just an FYI that you might need a copy of your SS card to open and avoid a hard pull.
