The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Active & Cash back checking accounts both have no monthly fees to worry about. I wasn’t able to find the fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee or not.
Our Verdict
Not really worth it because it’s a hard pull to open the account. There are better bank account bonuses out there and instead of getting a hard pull for a bank account better to get one for a credit card with a high cash sign up bonus instead.

Don't bother... TU hardpull is worth more than $150.
Hey all,
I just got back from opening a new account at the branch. Sure the $150 is nice, but the free pizza is really what made it worth the time :)
There is a TU HP. I don't think they pull ChexSystems.
$100 minimum deposit.
Accounts are fee free but it requires a direct deposit- not sure what counts (anyone have any ideas?).
This is a typical small bank. The employees are super friendly and helpful, but the systems are glitchy and it's anything from streamlined. Took me an hour before I had to leave. Will finish the rest by email.
I'm interested to know if anyone else goes for it.
Thanks, added DP!
I confirmed with the bank that they do a hard pull of TU to open an checking account.
