Our Verdict
Not as good as the last $500 bonus. Although the direct deposit requirement is lower for the $400 tier. In any case a lot of people try to cycle these santander bonuses so if you’re eligible it’s probably worth just taking this bonus as I doubt we will see anything better in the short term.We will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses. I received a targeted mailer from Santander that stated "Earn up to $800 with a new checking account" on the front. I was bummed as I recently opened an account for the $400 public offer. I think that this is the 1st time that I had ever received a targeted Santander offer.
I then opened it and reviewed the terms and felt a lot better. The $800 offer requires a Private Client Checking account, which requires $250K to be in the account at all times, making the deal a complete non-starter for me.
Interestingly, the $400 offer in the mailer requires a Santander Select Checking account, while the public offer that I signed up for, allowed a Simply Right Checking Account.
There was also a lowly $200 offer for the Simply Right in the mailer.
I got a mailer today for an $800 bonus for opening a Santander private client checking and having 10k in DDs in 90 days. However, private client checking requires a 250k balance. Tempting to try to get the bonus but it probably wouldn't post for 3/4mo and by then I imagine they'll bother me about the 250k balance
Pretty late to report, but I just wanted to include a data point that the bonus posted within 90 days of account opening with real direct deposits.
8/22 - Account opened
Multiple real DD's
~11/15 - Received $400 bonus
Closed account in March.

Thank you, I will try this. Can you please add what it was coded as so I can look out for it?
Good morning everyone, is anyone willing to share their 700 promo?
Whats fake DDs are working? Thinking of trying from Fidelity or Schwab brokerage, any chance for it to work?
TrD worked for me last year. I am planning on applying again soon for my next churn and will hopefully be testing it again. 😉
TrD involves lot of process isnt it? Or can i able to open now and with draw in a week?
If you don't have an account with them, it might take several minutes to open. I opened my account years ago so I don't recall the exact process.
However, once your account is set up, it will be well worth it. You could purchase and withdraw in about a week if you use the C of I account but I wouldn't recommend doing that as it's risking getting banned. It is much safer to buy 4 week T-Bills.
Let me know if you are interested in using TrD. If so, I will find a couple of my old comments talking about it.
Yes, Please. Much appreciated Eric
@guest_2064465,
Read through both of my comments below about TrD and then let me know if you have any questions.

thanks @guest_1671447 for this great info
datapoint:
opened 3/5
paychex DDs totaling $5288 across 7 deposits, from 3/12 to 4/16
bonus received 6/5 (91 days) $400
the description is "bonus payment"
2/25 account opened in branch (declined online)
Multiple fake DDs
4/29 receive "30 days left to receive your bonus" email (despite fake DDs already made)
5/28 bonus payment $400
What banks you initiated the DDs from?
Congrats @guest_2013706 W. Do you think they're Chex sensitive because they declined you online? Thank you
I think one of the problems is I have two addresses (one in west coast and one in east coast) associated with my SSN, so I always get declined when applying online for various banks. Of course my CHEX is not looking good
so no idea what triggered, what didn't?
At least you can be confident that common personal ACH transfer will be sufficient
two-day CapitalOne Bank transfer, accepted by many other banks, caused me to miss my Santander bonus this year. I'm forced to close Santander today, and not even sure how soon I'm allowed to try again(?)
exactly why I also missed santander bonus, because capital one didn't work. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/nh-ma-ri-ct-de-ny-nj-pa-or-fl-in-branch-santander-400-checking-bonus/#comment-2021043
