Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

This account has no monthly fees to worry about

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee.

Our Verdict

Seems like a great deal if you live near a branch. I’ll definitely be adding this to our list of the best checking account bonuses.

  • Everyone else seems to have a quick turnaround on this one. My P2 and I are still waiting after ACH transfers on Aug 6 and real DDs on Aug 9. From what she told us, I think the person you sign up with manually reviews this to trigger the bonus, so I guess it is the luck of the draw.

  • Why is this listed as expired? The online offer expired but you can still do this in branch as noted in the link provided in the article...Offer expires 9/30/2019

  • So I will be going to college in Murfreesboro in a few weeks. I would like to take advantage of this bonus. Would a transfer from USAA trigger the ACH requirement? How long after requirements are met will the bonus post? Thanks in advance.

    • @guest_796455 yes, any ach transfer qualifies. It took me less than a month from account opening to get the bonus. A week or two after the ACH transfer posted

  • Easy bonus to do
    DP
    Opened in branch on 7/25/19
    $100 cash opening deposit
$500 push from cash app on 7/29/19
    08/09/19 bonus posted

    Thanks doc!

    • Just wanted to make sure that Cash App got added as a data point for acceptable DD. Don't think there were any Wilson DP's prior to this bonus. @will

      • Thanks, won't list it because any ACH will work for this promo and if in future they require a direct deposit strictly it will be confusing

  • One of the best/ easiest bonuses I’ve done:
    DP:
    Opened 7/18/19
    $100 transfer from discover
    8/9 bonus posted
    Wife’s DP
    Opened 7/19/19

    • Just a follow up confirmation that there is no household limit. Wife and I both approved in branch this week.

  • There is an early termination fee of $15 (in addition to possible clawback of bonus) if the account is closed within a year.

    • Fee schedule (paper copy) says $15 if closed within 180 days of open, though rep said one year. there is also a dormant account fee of $5, but it only applies after 18 mo of inactivity.

Also to qualify for debit card cashback on this account and reimbursed ATM fees, you must be enrolled in e-statements and have one DD or ACH post per month. Otherwise no 3%

    • Also 3% cashback does not apply to transactions over $250, and is capped at $7.50 per month.
