The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Open a new PyraMax Bank checking account and receive a bonus of $100 when you open any new checking account and complete the following requirements:
    • Not entirely sure what the requirements are, but I believe they are:
      • eStatements
      • Download banking app
      • Download card valet app
      • Get Palm Scanned (this also gives a $5 starbucks gift card)
      • Ask about uChoose rewards

The Fine Print

  • Offer available to individuals without a PyraMax Bank checking account in the past 90 days
  • Requires a minimum opening deposit of $25
  • Account must remain open for 90 days and meet the bonus conditions after which you will receive the bonus
  • Limit of one gift per household
  • Must present the flyer
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Simply Checking seems to be the easiest account to keep fee free. It has a $5 monthly fee that is waived if you do three of the following:

  • Receive a monthly direct deposit of $100 or greater
  • Enroll in e-statements
  • Maintain a $500 minimum balance in this account
  • Maintain a $1,000 minimum balance in combined PyraMax bank deposits
  • Perform 7 check card transactions
  • Perform one online bill payment transaction

Our Verdict

Bonus seems to be pretty easy to get, keeping the account fee free is more difficult. The other downside is that you have to open it in branch. I’m not sure it’s worth the effort involved for $100 but might be worth it for some if you live near a branch due to not requiring a direct deposit. As always if anybody signs up then please share your experiences in the comments below. This won’t be added to the best bank bonuses for now due to the small bonus and the unknowns.
