Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

They offer a free checking account, but that requires a direct deposit. Personal checking has a $12 monthly fee, but that is waived with a $250 minimum balance requirement.

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find the fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is an early account termination fee or not

Our Verdict

Seems like a great bonus if it’s a soft pull to open because there are no requirements and it’s easy to keep fee free.

  • I was approved. No idea what my chex scores are though. Probably not horrible; but I have been rejected at other banks due to chex.

  • rejected.

in state, but not near Waukesha. chex score around 600. 3 inquiries in last 3 mos, 4 in 6, 8 in 12.

  • Applied over weekend - rejected - assume chex too low at 700. Not near Waukesha

  • Got denied in-branch for Chex last year, don't think I was quite LOL/24 yet but I had quite a few inquiries.

  • fine print. looks like a layup!

    • It looks like Personal Checking isn't one of the allowed types, which leaves either Free Checking DD, maintaining a $1000 balance (Interest Checking), or paying $5/month fee (Simple Checking). [if not a senior or student] Seems a little odd that Personal Checking is excluded - anyone tried it?

    • Agree - also note in fees - early termination fee of $25 if closed within 90 days

      • Thanks for the info. What's the minimum deposit for the $250? I can't find the feedback on the site

  • The current link to the offer has a new extended expiration date of June 30, 2021. The fee schedule has an early termination fee of $25 if closed after 90 days.
