Lead Up Deals (Valid through July 11 or Longer)

As mentioned in the introduction Amazon already have a number of deals active in the lead up to prime day. If you’re interesting in any of these deals, I do them now/read the fine print carefully to see when they expire. Let’s take a look at some of these deals:

How To Get A Cheap/Discount Prime Membership

Prime normally costs $99 per year or you can pay $10.99 per month. There are a number of ways to save on a Prime Membership:

Stack & Save

It’s possible to stack lots of different deals and discounts on Amazon, we have a complete guide to all of your options here.

Our Verdict

One of the great things about Amazon at the moment is it’s possible to stack different deals and save up to 25% of the listed price. Obviously if items are discounted this makes that method any better. We will have a stickied post on July 11th (really night of the 10th) trying to cover the best deals. I hope they continue to improve prime day and don’t just use it as an opportunity to dump inventory but at this stage my expectations are suitably low.

As always a big thanks to any readers that support the site by using our Amazon affiliate links, it means a lot to us when you do. Just keep in mind you could be getting 3x JetBlue points instead.

  • Deals we're good, but you had to know what you want and be ready/plan for it. I don't remember last year's, probably because it was lackluster.

Missed out on the hotels.com deal like everyone else. The claimed progress bar was literally like deleting a 1kb file off your desktop fast...

Missed out in this power bank I wanted for $11!

I did end up picking up another one which CCC showed as the next cheapest price ever to be $3 more, but way back when. Pricier, but latest and greatest so should last me a while.

Did the $25 $5 back GC deal (thanks doc!)

Picked up a Dash Wand using my $10 promo from Amazon cash reload at CVS deal (thanks doc!)

Lastly picked up a lens for my camera which was on sale last week but sold out. Today was cheaper so hooray!

Overall I'm happy. I spent all of my Amazon credit that I've built up over the last few months from all the bonuses that doc posted and my small OVGC reloads.

Once again thanks for all you do. I know some people were annoyed by it, but I come to this site for deals, wherever they may be. Some obv don't apply to me, but I move on when that happens and wish other could do the same instead of complaining.

  • Thanks for being on top of everything today! Refreshing the blog every ten minites was more interesting than work.

  • How can Amazon advertise the Airbnb deal with such a limited quantity?!? It was absolutely impossible to buy! Just like Austin said, It was gone under 1 second, with the waitlist full. It's a shame on Amazon for not getting ready with enough supplies!

    • Pretty ridiculous to make time to maybe get $10 off a airbnb gift card...Not going to waste my time with gift cards from amazon on these deals except the $5 off $25.

  • So on some of these gift cards, I had my finger on the button to search the second the cards went on sale. The cards sold out instantly. I was on the page ready to click "buy" 15 seconds after the Airbnb sale started and no cards at all. How does that happen? Is there a trick where you have to have it in your cart or something?

  • so whos still complaining amazon prime day sucks balls? i wasnt ready for this years Amazon Black Friday. Blew other years out of the water.

    • Many people. It's not that great, dude. The real question is how do some people think it is.

      • while I am not surprised about your take, at the same time, its a shame to hear you dont think its that good. that must mean you pretty much have everything you need in your house or youre somehow able to find better prices somewhere else.

personally for me, the prices i have seen are crazy. many electronics, games, personal care products, had lots of deals dude. then you stack it with so much other shit that its Black Friday today.

like i said, i was surprised today. i thot it was just going to be "okay/good" like other years. this time Amazon went all out. have you seen SD FP dude? its burning up with deals man.

also, did you see the Amazon live stream Prime Day home shopping network channel? its on the top page towards the right. click on it and they will intro a deal every hour live. impressive.

      • The gift card deals were a real shame, but otherwise I thought there were a bunch of nice deals, even some broad-category deals.
I didn't like the focus on voice ordering.
