LifeGreen Checking, $8 Monthly Fee

- Receive a single ACH direct deposit, such as a recurring payroll or government benefit deposit, of at least $500, OR
- Receive multiple ACH direct deposits, such as a recurring payroll or government benefit deposit, with a total combined amount of at least $1,000, OR
- Have an average monthly balance of $1,500 or more (this is presumably calculated using a daily average and is not the same as a minimum monthly balance)
Early Account Termination Fee
There is an early account closure fee of $25 if you close your account within 180 days of account opening.
Referral Bonus $50
There is also a referral bonus you can receive in addition to this $200 bonus (bringing the total to $250). This has worked in the past, but it is no guarantee to work this time around. Do not share your referrals in the comments below, they can be found and shared here.
Our Verdict
Not as good as the $400 bonus, but better than the regular $200 bonus. I’m not sure if we will see that $400 bonus return anytime soon so it could be worth doing this bonus instead. There is some targeted language in the terms, but I think that just refers to need to register for this promotion before signing up. We will add this to our best bank bonus page.

Additional DP on the "Excluded" language on the offer tracker if anyone is curious:
6/25/25: Registered for first offer of the year (the one where you had to register by 6/30)
7/16/25: Forgot that you could open the account through the first one until 7/31, so registered for the promo expiring 12/31
7/16/25: Opened account with $125 CC funding thru CFU (coded as purchase)
7/20/25: Checked promo website, showing two offers: Q1-Q2 and Q3-Q4. First one shows as expired (although from the deadlines it still seems like I'm good to complete those once I get the DD in. Second one shows as excluded (probably because of the first one). $125 CC funding counted towards promo on both. I'm testing a few different DD methods (for the homies) so I'll report back with those later.
Have you previously had a checking account at the bank? If so, when was it closed?
No prior relationship with them.
Where do I find the "Bonus Tracker"? I don't see it using my computer interface.
You can track promos and referrals at offertracker.regions.com
Warning to all, I applied a few days ago and was approved. Just checked the bonus tracker today and it showed as "Excluded." Called in and rep spoke to her supervisor who said because I closed my last account in February of 2024 I was ineligible. I told her the terms state one year prior, but she said that it's anytime from the start of 2024 to the end of 2024. Said I could go into a branch and maybe they could do something but didn't sound too optimistic about it.
Same for me, I'm going to do a legit DD and see how it plays out.
Something is wrong with their system, they must know it. I got a targeted email for $300 offer for checking and there is a specific code that had to be added to the application. I applied 6/5 and was denied. I applied again 6/10 and was approved. Both times I clicked the link in my email and used the same code. I logon to offertracker.regions.com and they show 6/5 and 6/10 I have 2 checking offers going. The one from 6/5 shows "complete" and somehow it shows $400 bonus? The one from 6/10 shows 67% complete and for $300 bonus. None of that makes sense. I would try to call again or go by a branch and talk to someone about a problem with their tracking of the promo offers. good luck with it.
That is so bizarre! Wonder if it’ll work out in your favor and you somehow get $700 lol
@guest_2100961 Mine also says excluded as of earlier today. Do a comment search for "excluded" and there are previous DPs discussing this but I'm not sure what the outcome was. I'm not convinced this supervisor wasn't just lacking reading comprehension skills. The terms of the promo don't at all imply that anyone with an account closed in the calendar year of 2024 is ineligible. Weird stuff.
I went ahead and filed a CFPB complaint for the first time ever, not sure if it’ll do anything but worth a shot I guess. The customer service was pretty bad…first I chatted via the app with a rep who took 20 minutes of my time to eventually tell me she couldn’t help and to call. I called, waited on hold for 10 minutes then explained everything to the rep, then we got disconnected so I had to call back. Next rep said she needed to transfer me to a different department and proceeded to instead send me back to the same exact automated phone tree I was in to begin with. Then I spoke to another woman who was able to transfer me to the “New Accounts” department. Person at New Accounts seemed confused on why my tracker was showing excluded and said it shouldn’t be…then spoke to her supervisor who claimed the weird rule.
@guest_2100961 Oh wow, that sounds like a real mess. I was going to mention that this sounds like classic grounds for a CFPB complaint, but was hesitant because of what I've heard about them having been gutted by DOGE and the current admin and all that. The two times I filed a CFPB complaint in the past, the problem was resolved very quickly afterward. It'll be interesting to see what happens here. I'm assuming you plan to keep moving forward with completing the terms of the promo in the meantime?
Yes, I transferred from my Discover Savings the other day but it’s too early for it to show up in the tracker. After the frustrating experience with their support I was very tempted to just close the account and forget about the whole thing, but I’m going to wait it out and see what happens (they have that pesky $25 early closure fee anyway). I’m definitely curious how the CFPB process will go with the current admin and if banks are even taking it seriously anymore.
@guest_2100961 @guest_1905836 I got an update on the situation. Took almost 2 hours on the phone with bank agents. Here's what I was told..
This is something that'll need to be fixed by the reps in the new account dept. They are not trying to exclude us from the promo, but a ticket will need to be submitted to fix the discrepancy. They can't submit a ticket until the account's been open for over five business days or the ticket will get rejected per bank policy.
So, on the sixth business day after opening, you'll want to call the bank and talk with the new accts dept (was told direct line is 888-467-7627, otherwise just call main line and ask to be transferred) and request they submit a "market incentive inquiry ticket" to fix the error with the promo incentive exclusion on your account.
I've been told this will lead to a favorable resolution, if not we'll have to cross that bridge when we get there..
*CORRECTION*
I typed the wrong digit, the correct number is 888-462-7627. It’s the Region’s Green Line they call it, option 3 connects quickly. I called today and submitted the ticket, so I know that number is good. @guest_2100961
Google search shows it’s a line usually used for Regions loan support and credit card application status, but if it works it works. It’s 1-888-IN-A-SNAP.
Lol, they handle new deposit accounts too. Just how they do things over there I suppose.
@guest_2098276 Just FYI, I called that number and it is not Regions Bank. That number goes to some scammy sounding call center that tries to sell you on their ongoing "promotion".
@guest_1645717 Oh dang. I typed the wrong digit, the correct number is 888-462-7627. It's the Region's Green Line they call it, option 3 connects quickly. I called today and submitted the ticket, so I know that number is good. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thank you for sharing! Very helpful!
Thanks for the update!
For sure!
Great, thanks for doing the grunt work! I registered preemptively, but I'm not eligible to open until December. I'll keep this in my notes for then. Again, major props friend.
Glad I can be of service, bud!
What does your offer tracker say for the name of the offer? "2025 Q3-Q4 BAU Consumer HHG Offer"?
Yes @guest_2099187 that's what it says.
Ok. I was wondering if the system registered you guys up for the Q1-Q2 promo. It didn't, so it looks like the offer may be coded incorrectly and the supervisor was looking at the previous terms.
So basically, previous versions of the promo excluded those that had checking accounts in the 12 months prior to the promo start date (see https://web.archive.org/web/20250405102739/https://www.regions.com/promo/pm/switch-to-regions?promo=W25CKG). The Q1-Q2 promo started on 1/1/2025, so effectively all of 2024 was excluded.
That sounds like a logical/ plausible explanation. Hopefully some people with legitimate DD sources can put some pressure on them to sort this out. I'm trying to avoid drawing attention to my account with my best DD source being Chase Biz ACH. That might draw some unwanted scrutiny.
If you haven't started your DDs yet, eyes on your account shouldn't matter at this point. I think it's probably better to reach out yourself, just in case they have to roll out an updated promo and it doesn't apply to those already registered automatically.
I might have to do that. Haven't started my DDs yet.
For this do you actually have to setup direct deposit with employer or just do ach transfers to the account?
Look at the numerous DPs. Basically any ACH push works as "DD" for regions. There's also a tracker page if you want proof
Has anyone OOS with a previous Regions account been able to open a new account without having to go in-branch again?
I believe there is no need of promo code for the 2025 promo
Is this churnable within 12 months- closed account on 5/21/24?
@guest_1742994 @guest_1645717 Hang tight if you haven't applied yet. I closed my last account in April '24 and now I'm being told I'm excluded from the promo, trying to see if I can get a resolution.
Rip, burned by not reading the latest DPs before applying. I'll be calling in tomorrow to figure out if I'm also excluded and raise a ticket as well
You can check if you’re excluded at offertracker.regions.com
@guest_2099187 @guest_1645717 I applied last night and I'm seeing an in progress offer (not excluded) for "2025 Q3-Q4 BAU Consumer HHG Offer". Judging by the promo quarter and previous DPs, looks like they fixed it?
Is the “open an account” step already marked as complete?
Not yet, will update once it does
Ok. I’m pretty sure the exclusion occurs after the promo tracks the account opening because it’s for opening the account too early, not registering too early.
Yeah. mine didn't say excluded until a few days after opening the account. They haven't fixed it yet for me, I'm supposed to call tomorrow to have them submit a ticket. I'll update everyone when there's some more progress.
Now that I'm out of online banking jail, I checked the offer tracker and I also show offer 2025 Q3-Q4 BAU Consumer HHG Offer is Excluded. I called customer support today and gave them my previous account closure date (1/9/2024) and they submitted a ticket to get the offer fixed. They provided me a ticket reference number and said it could take up to 5 business days, but that I could just keep checking the offer tracker or call them to get an update.
I hope this influx of tickets gets them to fix the underlying issue because I still need to open for P2 but don't want to deal with this again.
Good to know, I submitted the ticket on Saturday and was told the same thing about 5 business days. Guess we'll see what happens @guest_1645717 .
I'm currently in online banking jail so I don't have access to check until I visit a branch.
Thanks for the heads up but I already opened the account. I will wait a bit to see if this situation resolves itself before opening P2's account.
Yes this new offer only has a 12 month cooldown since last closure.
Looking for a referral. Str8fan11@gmail.com
Sweet, now I can start my next churn on 12/24 instead of waiting until 1/1
Churning this. Last one closed in June 2024. Opened in branch with a different email. Initially the banker opened by pulling my previous profile with old email. I asked him to correct it before I left the branch. Hopefully this is not going to affect the bonus. Tips: you may want to use the same email if you don't want this risk.
