  • Dang, Chase must have some intel about Amex going big on Plat refresh. Amex Plat AF going up $200+ I’m guessing

  • When is the optimal timing to product change a CSP to CSR based on the AF timing? (not the increase to 795, but the AF timing of when the $95 should post)

    • Both annual fees prorate on the date of the change. You get a partial year charge on one and a partial year credit on the other.

    • What I’ve noticed in having done 3 product changes with Chase is that they issue a prorated refund of the AF immediately for the old card, and then charge the new AF in full in the 4th month thereafter on the 1st (e.g., when I PC’d on February 7, the new AF was charged on June 1.)
Chase has a 45-day right to reject period where you can change your mind and decide to go back to the old card. They will not charge you the new AF during this time.

When I’ve PC’d after anniversary year but before the AF posted, I did not receive a prorated refund (as expected.)
