Frontier has added a new benefit for Elite Platinum and Diamond members, you can now bring a companion with you for free (you pay the taxes and fees). This is similar to the Southwest companion pass. You can use the Frontier benefit on all flights unless it’s a flight book with the GoWild! Pass.
Hat tip to DDG
They partially bait & switched it. Before the Companion Pass went live, the official web site said that miles bookings were allowed with Companion Pass. See archived link: https://web.archive.org/web/20250124093650/https://faq.flyfrontier.com/help/can-i-bring-a-companion-on-an-award-flight
Once it actually went live, they deleted that page, and I confirmed with customer service that they changed the terms and will not allow the benefit to be used with miles bookings. Glad I spent all that money on the Frontier credit card to get platinum, should have known they’d find a way to make it worth far less than advertised.
would you say taking out the frontier credit card is for the status for myself.
about me:
domestic travel, flexible work schedule, dont really check luggage, i do have a player 2.
But then you would have to fly Frontier.
Companion Pass For Elite Platinum and Diamond Members? And you thought you was gonna get on your flight?
As a Frontier and RDU frequent flyer, I celebrated so hard when I heard she got fired. Same lady was the cause of a DOT complaint from me because she refused to waive agent assist fee for a ticket booked at RDU.
Important context: it is extraordinarily difficult to earn platinum or diamond status these days absent credit card spending (aside from an introductory platinum promo last winter). And the credit card would require $50k/$100k in spending.
That being said, this does appear to be a genuinely valuable benefit, particularly to be offered at platinum as well.
Yep. Hoping for a future status match promotion.
Card gives 3x on restaurants if you eat out alot and use your card for business lunches it adds up
