Original post: Ouch! Capital One Shopping portal removed the following gift card redemption options: Walmart, Safeway, Bed Bath & Beyond, Petco. They’ve added a few new brands, such as CVS, SiriusXM, and few others.
The portal does not allow directly cashing out rewards; we need to purchase a gift card. Walmart and Safeway were probably the most commonly used cash out options. They do have many more top brand redemption options (direct link), such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, eBay, Kohl’s, Nike, etc.
Personally, I’ve always cashed out via Walmart gift cards. I’m not sure how much I’ll be using the portal going forward given that I don’t really shop at any of those other brands consistently.
If you have a Capital One credit card, it’s a good idea to check if the Capital One Offers within your bank login have the same offer since those rewards get cashed out as a statement credit. Finally able to redeem and receive for Albertson’s (Safeway) this morning!
For those of you (like me) for whom Giftcards.com disappeared as a merchant on the Capital One Shopping app several weeks ago, check your apps this morning — it seems to have returned.
The $10 sign up bonus I mentioned below was posted today. I haven’t even shopped yet.
No idea if it’s public.

hate that they removed the walmart redemption. Was looking at Cinemark and it had $15, $25 and $50 option. Logged in after a few hours and there are still 3 radio buttons but now they just allow $25, $25 and $50!! What a disappointing experience
I redeemed $15 for Safeway GC on 3/25. I have the screen shot for the confirmation . But I still haven’t received the e-GC as of now. Even worse, when I logged into my account now, my rewards balance still shows the amount same as that I did the redemption. Anyone else has the same issue?

Does CapOne actually pay out these bonuses? There’s no expiration date or terms in the fine print of the email…..seems shady?
As noted above, I now have a $10 balance in my ‘account’. I don’t see a way to use it though other than to cash it out as a Gift Card.
Can place an Albertson’s (Safeway) GC order, but refreshing the page the order auto-disappears and my balance is restored!
Edit: seems ok after clearing cookies.
Disappeared again, but a CVS GC redemption did process.
