Citi is making changes to it’s Price Rewind program starting July 29th (tomorrow). For those not familiar Citi’s Price Rewind is a price protection policy, if you purchase an item with your Citi card and then you find that same item at a lower price within 60 days Citi will refund the difference. They will be making the following changes on July 29th:
Prior to July 29, 2018 | On or After July 29, 2018 | |
---|---|---|
How Long is Citi Price Rewind Available? | 60 days from date of purchase for each item | 60 days from date of purchase for each item |
Maximum Benefit per item | The lesser of the following: $500 The amount charged to the Citi card | The lesser of the following: $200 The amount charged to the Citi card |
Maximum Benefit per calendar year per account | $2,500 | $1,000 |
In addition the following items won’t be eligible:Â consumables, tires, watches, firearms, or ammunition. I’d recommend making any price rewind claims you’re eligible for now before the new rules go into place to avoid disappointment. I think the new rules only apply to items purchased after this date and some are saying the maximum cap will also reset on 1/1/19. I guess we won’t know for sure for a few weeks.
