Our Verdict
I usually don’t post checking bonuses that are under $100, because after you pay taxes on them it doesn’t leave much meat on the bone. A number of people have e-mailed me about this offer and wanted my thoughts, which is why we’ve decided to list it. I’m personally not going to go after this bonus because I don’t want another ChexSystems inquiry for only $50 (minus taxes), that being said this might be an attractive option for some people considering how easy it is to complete the requirements. I’d recommend reading our list of the best checking promos first to see if there isn’t something with a bit higher of a sign up bonus that you’d like to complete instead.
One thing also worth considering is that a lot of people have reported receiving a targeted promotion of $25 for setting up a direct deposit after receiving this bonus, which bumps it up to $75 but obviously not everybody will receive this and it’s a bit of a hassle for some.
