Instacart sent out an email to their Instacart+ members indicating that the discount of up to 7% discount on Costco Same-Day will be decreased to a max of 3.5% going forward. I wonder if a a similar change will take place for Costco orders from within the regular Instacart flow.
There’s also a new $10 monthly discount available for Costco Same Day or Costco/Instacart orders of $150+ which we discussed in a prior post.
In store Costoc pricing is very bad…in my experience, they are 20 to 50% more expensive than Aldi. They were selling golden kiwis for triple the price of Aldi at one point. Enough with this price gouging. Many more examples like that
Costco is no longer value. it is almost always cheaper to buy elsewhere – no membership fee, no long lines.
only the rotisserie chicken is cheap
In store Costco pricing is very good for the quality for lost items.
The clearance deals are incredibly good.
Buying through Instacart or online delivery is not a good deal.
I buy from Costco because they have some things I can’t get at Walmart or Kroger (like their croissants are amazing) and usually on Same Day or directly through Instacart they really are still cheaper. Yesterday I got a 43oz can of Folgers for the same price as a 40oz can at Walmart.
And I only do it because I’m not well. It’s very hard for me to go grocery shopping. I try to mitigate the cost of tipping by doing the discounted 3 hour delivery window. It’s not a service that benefits everyone but unfortunately for some of us it’s necessary.
Still spouting off 2-day or online Costco prices I see. Folgers 2.72 pound (43.5 oz) can is $17.49 in my warehouse.
You said: “how much did you pay for Folgers? It’s $17.58 at Sam’s and $19.49 at Costco.”
But that’s entirely beside the point. You’re misrepresenting prices. Why do care where others shop or even what they buy? It’s our money and our business.
it was a typo. It should be $17.48 and I can’t edit the post. you can see if here: https://www.samsclub.com/p/folgers-classic-roast-ground-coffee-43-5-ounce/P03007100
I mean GreedCo is 20% to 50% more expensive than Aldi or Sam’s from my experience. That’s not spare change if you factor into someone spending $10k a year on grocery. It’s $2k to $5k savings.
Then you don’t know how to shop. I know every price of every item I buy and 99% of the time I buy the lowest one. And I don’t shop at Aldi and Sam’s is a rare stop at well.
Again though you consistently misrepresent pricing by using Costco Same Day or online pricing to “compare” and all it does is denigrate any possible point you think you’re making.
I don’t know what you meant by misrepresenting Costco pricing..when you just prove yourself Costco is MORE EXPENSIVE than Sam’s.
You stated that Costco was 19.49, which is a Same Day Instacart price and compared it to an in store Sam’s price of 17.48. That is the very definition of misrepresenting Costco pricing.
Caring about an extra penny on a 43.5oz can of product… penny pinching to the max.
Drinking Folgers to boot. My condolences.
Maga math!!!!
Genuine question, why do people still shop at GreedCo when Aldi and Sam’s Club are so much cheaper. As an example, for coffee:
Sam’s Club: $18 for 43 Oz
GreedCo: $15 for 14 Oz.
GreedCo is 158% more expensive.
It’s 19.39, pretty sure even cheaper at warehouse https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature-house-blend-whole-bean-coffee-medium-roast-25-lbs.product.4000232205.html
How is that 158% more expensive, lol ?
Also, in general costco quality is better
$16.89 in-club near me for 2.5 lb or 40 oz – item #1726089
$17.98 for https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-mark-colombian-supremo-whole-bean-coffee-40-oz/prod10780618
Which is higher?
Unit prices on some name brands are also higher at Sam’s Club.
i am sorry but why does all the GreedCo simps like to mislead people..there is a MM whole beans coffee for $14,98. That’s 13% more expensive at GreedCo. If you decide to pick the most expensive one from Sams and the cheapest one from GreedCo, of course GreedCo is cheaper. Stop misleading people.
https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-mark-original-medium-roast-whole-bean-coffee-40-oz/P990345158?xid=plp_product_16
omg…i was trying to compare apples to apples (brand name vs brand name)…member’s mark for 2.5 lb coffee is only $13.98 (https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-mark-ground-colombian-coffee-40-oz/P990330055?xid=plp_product_3)…GreedCo’s in-house coffee is ~40% more expensive. Stop misleading people.
Second, the starting pay at costco is 20$/hr and at Sam club it’s 15$/hr. Now who is GreedCo ?
GreedCo starting pay is $18/hr; Sam’s is $17/hr. Location dependent.

Omg you’re back in here complaining about Costco and calling it GreedCo. It is so weird how you show up on all these posts and do this
Over and over you ask this question and over and over it’s been answered. You spout off comparisons that are shown to be wrong and then ignore. We get it, you hate Costco.
my comparisons are not wrong…every time people trying to rebuttal with “apples to oranges”comparison when they realize GreedCo is 40% more expensive. Why do people like to throw money away?
Must be a Costco hater.
I shop both and while there was a time when it seemed I could get negligible better prices at Sams Club for some things, that doesn’t appear to be the case any longer.
Your mileage may vary of course depending on what you shop for. I don’t buy coffee. Hopefully you don’t buy a membership just to get coffee and if you’re comparing prices then I would wonder how you’re getting into Costco without a membership to “GreedCo”. lol
As an aside I find it interesting how low my local Sam’s Club has fallen since Costco went in about 5 years ago. They already weren’t great but was all we had. There’s such a depressing atmosphere when walking into Sam’s. It has the same low quality, effort, and feel as Walmart. Yes, I know they’re under the same umbrella.
Golden kiwi at one point is triple than Sam’s. They have since lowering the price..but every single item i used to buy at GreedCo, they are 20 to 50% less expensive at Aldi or Sams. Imagine you spent $10k on grocery a year, that’s $2k to $5k savings by not shopping at GreedCo. I don’t understand why people like to throw money away.
you don’t have to shop at costco my friend
Hopefully your theory applies to idiot shills who post on the internet.
you JUST said in your own comment Costco lowered their prices
stop simping for GreedCo
It’s joever
Costco Executive members get $10 off a $150 Instacart same day delivery.
150 * .035 devaluation $5.25
47% of Costco members are executive members
$5.25 / .47 = $11.17
$10 – $11.17 = -$1.17
Coincidence??!??!?!???
lol
Devaluations everywhere..
The minimum order to get $10 credit is $150. The difference in discount is 3.5%. After taking both of these into account the discount is at most $4.75. That doesn’t take into account the price of executive membership or if you go over $150. Overall not a good change.
This just seems to be further proof of my hypothesis that they are phasing out Same-Day. Now Instacart is going to straight-up have better pricing than Same-Day.
I just did a price comparison on an order with an Ink $20 off credit and tip versus Same Day… Same Day was cheaper until the $20 Ink credit was factored in.
Do people still shop at GreedCo?
Yes, many many, much much more than you hope
Genuine question – why though? Their stuff is 20-50% more expensive than Aldi or Sam’s Club and everytime I went to GreedCo, I feel like i am a cattle being packed in a slaughter house..
Quality of overall products I’d say. I’ve been to all three places and it’s a no brainer for me and my family to shop at Costco.
are you a GreedCo Simp? this is simply talking points from their marketing department. I found it not true otherwise.
Aldi is trash quality. It’s our closest grocer and we drive by it to go to Meijer or Kroger every single week.
We only go to Aldi out of desperation when we need a last minute ingredient and it’s not something remotely complicated/exotic, but a basic staple. Because Aldi doesn’t have anything for herbs/spices/produce/product variety.
well if you like to pay triple at Kroger, then I guess there is nothing much i could say. Kroger is literally the bottom of my list in terms of grocery shopping. they sell a pack of microwave instant rice for $3 dollars..Aldi is selling for $1.
I don’t need to order bananas everytime my order subtotal comes out to be $34.xx. On a serious note, it sucks to pay extra.
