Opening an account is so difficult…I gave up after 3 weeks.

New promo CD rates are 9 months (3.55%), 15 months (3.75%) and 49 months (3.85%). $10K minimum.
You can thank the Federal Reserve for the change in interest rate swings.

Recent DPs (2019) on creditboards forum indicate that NASA FCU is indeed a hard pull to open an account.

The NASA FCU accounts are relatively easy to open, but they will probably ask for a photo of your DL, not unusual for CUs. As far as I remember, you’d need to open the savings account first, fund it and then open the CD (or maybe it can be done in parallel, I do not remember). Anyway, as paltry that rate is, it might get pulled soon so I would stay on top of that funding procedure.

Personally, I am passing on this one. But all in all, this is not a bad FCU and they do run these promos often; oh and I like that at least a portion of their clientele is on the government paycheck.

This qualifies as a good rate? 🙂

You can get 5x that with Blockfi.

Bonds in Venezuela pay about 10x what Blockfi pays.

You must remember that BlockFi has actual risk and you can lose it all.

Anyone know if we can fund the 10k with a credit card?

You cannot. You can fund the required savings with $500 though.
