Our Verdict
Shopping portals exclude gift cards so there’s no stacking here, but still a very nice 14% discount. Stack with Chase Offer and/or use a Chase Freedom card for 5x on Wholesale.

If you want to save even more, a lot of folks on Reddit (Google “reddit gift card exchange) are selling Southwest travel credits for less than 75% (less than $375 for $500 as a comparison to this deal).

The deal has expired and back to the old price of 449.99
Years ago I bought a Southwest gift card just to use on refundable transactions. (I.e. the security fees on rewards purchases.) Gift cards are treated differently than cash when it comes to refundable purchases. Where as a credit card will be refunded back to the card, they convert these to the travel funds that expire within a year. So combine that with the poor accountability and tracking Southwest provides on voucher refunds , I ended up losing some money rather than saving money getting a discount gift card.
Now I'm sure to wait and buy gift cards (and values) when I'm about to use them. And don't use gift card to anything I may need to refund on. Lesson learned.
Southwest travel funds no longer expire
How do people optimize the Sam's Club membership fee? I am not a member and I am not paying a full fee for just this deal.
Love Sams club; 99% same stuff as Costco, often tad cheaper; free curbside pickup (for Plus); was awesome during covid & was saving time for basic stuff; usually much less crowded; scan & go is a gamechanger, super fast; no standing in line at costco forever. Can be in & out of the store in minutes with whatever I need; cheap gas, like costco; also open earlier in morning than costco (8a for plus, although local club doesn't care & everyone walks in at 8a).

Love that they open early for Plus as well. Don't use scan and go since it doesn't allow gift cards but there's never anyone there anyway. Costco checkout isn't bad either. Use self checkout and rarely wait in line. Gas is better at Costco cost wise, not sure about quality.
I imagine we optimize it by using it.
Personally, the allergy meds cost difference vs Walmart is more than enough to offset the fee.
Groupon currently offers SC memberships for $25.

Sam's offers 100% back if you cancel your membership for any reason before renewal.
too bad this isnt available come April 1 when Discover has the 5%
