[Expired] [Targeted] Fidelity 2% Card: Get Extra 20% Bonus Points After Spending Set Amount

Deal has ended, view more Fidelity deals by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer via email (Subject: <your name>, get Bonus Points while staying home)

  • The Fidelity 2% credit card is sending out an email offer to get an extra 20% points after you spend a set amount. E.g ‘Earn 20% more Bonus Points (up to 2,000 points) on purchases after you spend $1,550* between August 1 and September 30, 2020. Be sure to enroll by August 31, 2020.’

Our Verdict

Card normally earns 2% everywhere, this makes it 2.4% everywhere (although not really as you need to spend a set amount first and then it’s only $20 in bonuses).

Got a similar offer today: 5 total points/percent(3 extra points on top of normal 2) after $1800 spend from 3/1 to 4/30. The extra 3 points/percent caps at 2000 points.

Finally see my points from this promo on my December statement. They really take their time in crediting it, 3 months from promo end.

Do I have to be an existing customer to apply for this card? When I click ‘Apply’ it takes me to ‘Log in’ page. I don’t have any login so I select ‘New User Register now’. But after I enter my info I get “Error: One or more of your entries did not match our records. Please try again.” Anyone else have the same issue?

My offer is different too.

Earn 50% more Bonus Points (up to 10,000 points) after you spend $100.

Looks like it’s one of the better versions of their offer. I usually only have a recurring gym membership on this card, but since Covid the gym’s closed and I haven’t been using this card at all.

I got lucky this time around, and only have to spend $300 before I start getting the bonus. That makes it worthwhile to me for general spend. In the past, offers I’ve gotten have had much higher trigger levels. I have no clue what their algorithm is, but it’s clearly all over the board. I typically only use this card when some sort of bonus is happening.

I received the previous offer.
I lost the email about the terms.
I still have not seen any bonus.

These Fidelity Rewards bonuses aren’t that attractive.
You only get the bonus *after* the spend requirement and the bonus is on the spend *after* the requirement.

As a valued cardmember, you’re eligible to earn up to 2,000 Bonus Points during the two-month promotion period when you use your card.

Earn 20% more Bonus Points (up to 2,000 points) on purchases after you spend $4,300* between August 1 and September 30, 2020. Be sure to enroll by August 31, 2020.

Really, this is the best they can do???

I got this email yesterday, $1400 spend unlocks a 20% bonus(.4 more points). I am a moderate user, statement balence paid off every month, ranging from $200ish to $800ish. Only use this card for general 1% spend anywhere else(everything but Amazon, grocery, gas, Target, restaurants, Costco). Looking back I got one for $2000 back in February.

Meh.

Thank you guys.
Never targeted for these offers, but I am heavy user of the card.

I got this email today, but I am only required to spend $50 before earning the bonus rate. I’ve used this card once in the past year on a small purchase to try to keep the card open, so that may be why my threshold is much lower.
