U.S. Bank Cash+ To Lose Lost Luggage & Travel Accident Insurance

U.S. Bank Cash+ cardholders should have received an e-mail letting them know that on January 1st, 2019 this card will be losing two benefits:

  • Lost Luggage and
  • Travel Accident Insurance

I’m not sure how much these benefits were used by Cash+ cardholders considering there is no bonus category on travel purchases, but this is part of a growing trend by card issuers to remove these auxiliary credit card benefits.

USB Flexperks sent me a note about losing Identity Theft Protection. Not that I really care about that. But just sayin…

Don’t care. The value of this card is 5% on Home Utilities.

Isnt that still very limited wrt scale? Around ~$15 profit per month depending on your gas / electric / trash bills? Or are there any creative inclusions into Home Utilities category?

As noted, it seems like a lot of cards are losing these types of benefits. Makes me appreciate the great travel coverage of the CSR and why it has continued to stay in my wallet.
