Barclay & Uber have made some changes to the co-branded card they offer. Changes are as follows:
- Card now earns Uber cash instead of statement credit (current rewards will be converted to Uber cash)
- Card now earns 5% back in Uber cash on Uber, Uber Eats and JUMP (previously 2% for Uber and 4% for Uber Eats)
- Card now earns 3% back in Uber cash on dining, hotels and airfare (previously dining was 4% and hotels/airfare was 3%)
- $50 subscription benefit after $5,000 in spend will be removed for your next anniversary year
- Existing cardholders will be product changed to this new card in 2020
Increased earning rate on Uber is nice, but losing 4% on dining is a big loss as that was one of the best credit cards for restaurant spend. Uber Cash instead of statement credit is also a loss given how often we see Uber gift cards on sale. See our original review of the Uber credit card here.
