Capital One Improves Transfer Rate To 1:1 For Most Transfer Partners

Capital One has improved the transfer rate to 1:1 for most transfer partners. The following partners all transfer at a 1:1 rate:

  • Aeromexico Club Premier
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Air France-KLM Flying Blue
  • Avianca LifeMiles
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
  • Choice Privileges
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Etihad Guest
  • Finnair Plus
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
  • Wyndham Rewards

There are now only three programs that don’t transfer at a 1:1 rate:

Capital One first launched the ability to transfer points in 2018, and improved the transfer rates in April 2021 for a lot of partners. The nice thing about Capital One is that they offer some cards that earn 2x on all purchases. Capital One has also offered some transfer bonuses in the past as well, it’ll be interesting to see if those continue with these increased rates.

Just a reminder that ACCOR points are pegged to the Euro… and the Euro is weak right now… so if you want to use your points at Accor right now you’re probably better off using the points to pay yourself back.

When you transfer Cap1 points to airlines, do they require matching names on Cap1 and airline accounts?

Still amazed I got approved for the Venture in Summer when I have like 14 active open accounts and had just gotten a premier 3 weeks before I got my Venture. Now I might keep my Venture open longer than I thought a solid 2x everywhere card was needed for me and now with 1:1 it’s not that bad of card and who knows what will come down the line as Cap1 keeps improving their offerings.

Unfortunate, thanks. I’d risk the app if it were just 1, but getting all 3 pulled twice and denied, I’ve vowed to never try again.

Nice. Too bad they don’t have JAL.

Nice! Despite their credit card approval tendencies, I’d say Cap1 is legit program to focus on. They definitely still need a premium card though!

Eagerly waiting for EVA to become 1:1…
Especially useful for EVA business class during pandemic.

Great! I can visit Taiwan now right? Oh wait. Just because you can say something is over doesn’t mean it is. Henry is over 🙂
