Both Giant and Stop&Shop are offering a promotion on the purchase of gift cards from 11/13/15 until 12/3/15. These offers do not apply on Visa or Mastercard or Amex gift cards, but they seem to apply on all other third-party gift cards. The specific cards shown are: eBay, TracFone, TGIFridays, L.L. Bean, Google Play Store, GameStop, Fandango, Dominos, Cracker Barrel, Brinker Restaurants (Chili’s-Macaroni Grill-On the Border-Maggianos).
Stop&Shop Promo
- Purchase $100 in gift cards and receive a $10 credit toward your next shopping order.
Interestingly, they don’t say explicitly that the $10 credit won’t work on gift card purchases. Very likely it won’t, but we can still try…
Giant Promo
- Purchase gift cards and earn 4x fuel points.
The Fine Print
- Valid 11/13/15 – 12/3/15
- Not valid on Giant, Stop&Shop, Visa, Mastercard, or Amex gift cards
- Limit one offer per transaction
- Offer not available if coupon is used toward the purchase
Our Verdict
The fine print seems clear that you can do this offer multiple times, just you’ll only get the deal once per transaction and we’ll have to split it up into multiple transactions.
With regards to the Giant promo, ‘1 per transaction’ doesn’t make much sense; I’ll guess that they just copied the terms over from one to the other and it’s meaningless. With regards to the Stop&Shop offer, we’ll have to purchase $100 per transaction to get multiple $10 shopping credits. Hopefully, we’ll be able to redeem all the $10 credits in one transaction, but who knows?
It’s also nice that these offers run for a few weeks. I’m hoping there’ll be some stacking opportunities within the next few weeks which can sweeten the deal.
