[Expired] Revamped American Express Delta Cards Now Live (With Anniversary Bonuses For 1st Year For A Limited Time)

Deals are still active but they still show the 4/1 end date, so probably not safe to apply.

The revamped American Express Delta cards are now live, for a full list of changes you can read this post. In addition to the changes we knew about and the increased annual fees there are also some increased sign up bonuses available until April 1st, 2020. The increased bonuses seem to be the standard increased bonuses on these cards and then an additional anniversary bonus on your first year card anniversary (this requires paying the annual fee). The anniversary bonuses are as follows:

  • Delta Platinum: 20,000 miles ($250 annual fee)
  • Delta Reserve: 20,000 miles ($550 annual fee)
  • Delta Gold: 10,000 miles ($99 annual fee)

Some people were also wondering if the annual fee on the gold card would still be waived first year and it currently is. Overall the offers themselves are good, but nothing exceptional. It probably makes the gold and platinum cards keeping for the second year due to the anniversary bonuses, less so the reserve card unless you get a lot of use from the lounge benefit.

F.A.Q’s

Are these considered new cards for sign up bonus purposes?

No, these are the same cards just with a new annual fee and slightly different benefits. Whenever American Express has made changes like this (and even when they changed the actual card name) it was never treated as a new product for the purposes of getting the sign up bonus an additional time.
