Sapphire and Freedom Offers
We reported on the increased signup bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and the Chase Freedom card.
- Signup for the Sapphire Preferred card from Chase and receive 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 within 3 months. Also get a 5,000 point bonus when adding an authorized user who makes a purchase within 3 months.
- Signup for the Freedom card from Chase and receive $150 bonus after spending $500 within 3 months. Also get $25 when adding an authorized user who makes a purchase within 3 months.
Referrals Now Live
Previously, the system wasn’t giving these offers via the Chase refer-a-friend system, but they now are showing it and you can get the same bonus for signing up on the card while helping your friend earn 5,000 points or $50 as well.
- Receive 5,000 Ultimate Rewards points for each referral on the Sapphire Preferred card. Max of 10 referrals, or 50,000 points.
- Receive $50 for each referral on the Freedom card. Max 10 referrals, or $500.
- You can also refer-a-friend to the INK Plus card and receive a higher referral bonus of 10,000 points. We wrote about that previously.
The Chase Refer-a-Friend program can be accessed at https://www.chasereferafriend.com/.
There are 3 options for referring: via email, Twitter, or Facebook. The easiest way to refer is to get a link via Twitter or Facebook since you’ll get the link instantly; if you choose the email route, it takes a few days (“Your friends will receive an email within the next 7 days”). You don’t have to actually tweet out anything, just choose the option and it will show you your link. You can then instantly email your link to a friend or post it on your website, etc.
For some reason, the Freedom card is not showing the Twitter or Facebook option which means that you can’t generate an instant link. Just send an email to yourself and when you get the email a few days later it should have a link which you can then post on Twitter or wherever.

End Date
We also learned from this referral program that the Sapphire offer will be around (at least via referrals) until 3/5/16.
The referral site shows an end-date of 2/5/16.
But if you generate a tweet, it shows the date of 3/5/16. This apparently means that the chasereferafriend.com site will offer the option of referring until 2/5/16, but the referral links will be valid to use until 3/5/16, After 2/5/16, you will no longer be able to access your link, so be sure to mark it down before then.
We still don’t know what the end-date for the Freedom offer will be and we’ll find out when the referral emails start coming through in a few days or if they add the Twitter option for referring. We’ll add it here when we find out.
