Mastercard offers discounts at various retailers when using any Mastercard Business credit card. Many hotel, gas stations, restaurants and more are eligible for varying discounts, see MasterCard Easy Savings Program – Save Up To 10% On Your Business Expenses. Full list of eligible merchants here.
In a press release today, Mastercard and Rakuten announced a new partnership which will add the retailer to the list of businesses who offer Easy Savings discounts.
The benefit will give a rebate on all rakuten.com purchases which are paid with a registered Business Mastercard. Purchases of $250 or less will receive a 3% rebate and purchases of more than $250 will receive a 2% rebate. This is an additional bonus on top of whatever ordinary credit card rewards you’ll earn.
Rakuten is an interesting addition being that there are actually many merchants selling through Rakuten (a la eBay and Amazon), making the added rebate something potentially useful.
