[Expired] [Targeted] eBay: $10 Off $50 Via PayPal

This deal has expired, view more eBay deals here.

The Offer

No direct link. Targeted via e-mail. Subject line is ‘Get ready for Halloween now with $10 off $50+ at eBay!’

  • Take $10 off your next purchase of $50 or more on eBay when you use PayPal and your personalized code.

The Fine Print

  • This Coupon is a $10 discount valid from 12:00 AM PT on October 4, 2018 until 11:59 PM PT on October 10, 2018. Discount applies to the purchase price (excluding shipping, handling, and taxes) of eligible items on eBay.com.
  • Eligible items exclude items from the Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, and Real Estate categories.
  • Coupon must be used within a single transaction (and can include multiple eligible items), while supplies last.
  • Max one-time use. Only eBay users paying with PayPal and registered with an address located in the United States and Canada are eligible for the Coupon.
  • Valid only for purchases from ebay.com. Any unused difference between the discount amount, as shown on the Coupon, and the purchase price of an item(s) in a single transaction (or cart) will be forfeited.
  • Coupon is subject to U.S laws, void where prohibited, not redeemable for cash, has no face value, and cannot be combined with any other Coupon, or when paying with PayPal Credit Easy Payments or Gift Cards. eBay may cancel, amend, or revoke the Coupon at any time.

Our Verdict

eBay has been pushing eBay managed payment sellers recently (basically they don’t accept PayPal), so it’s interesting to see PayPal send this e-mail out. If we are lucky we might get a bit of a war between PayPal & eBay and lots of discounts. Remember to use a shopping portal for your eBay purchases. Alternatively use our affiliate link. Card linked program Drop is also offering 100 points per dollar (worth $0.1 towards gift cards). Samsung Pay is also offering 5% back. They probably won’t work as you’d need to pay with PayPal

Anybody have an extra code they wouldn’t mind trading for a small amount? Just won an auction for my brother’s birthday.

Are there any cash back portals that allow consumer electronics? Also, are there any that allow for “Best Offers” to generate cash back as well?

I could be wrong, but I don’t think any of the cashback sites care about how you get the price (BIN, auction, or best offer), only that you pay for it with their affiliate cookie active. I know Ebay/Paypal coupon codes all work on BIN, auction, and best offer, as long as you complete the payment before the coupon expires (which can be a problem if the seller doesn’t accept the offer quickly enough).

If you’re right, that’s great. Do you happen to know any cash back portals that allow consumer electronics?

I received it. 🙂 I had thought it was going to be only usable on Halloween stuff, the way the email was promoting it, but it’s the usual almost-sitewide format in the fine print.

I was able to use a code sent to my wife’s paypal email address on my ebay account with my non-targeted account (had more ebay bucks to burn) and it went through successfully.

Interesting. I wonder if the code is the same in all emails?

Mind sharing you code since you’ve already used it?

They appear to be unique codes because the paypal account I manage for my mother received a different code than that sent to my wife.

Yep, was targed on one of my paypal accounts (I have several accounts). Tried to use the code again and it didn’t work.
