$200 Staples Gift Cards for $170 from Paypal

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase a $200 e-gift card to Staples for just $170 from Paypal Digital Gifts (PPDG).

You won’t see any sort of advertisement of this sale. Just click the ‘$200’ option and the price will auto-adjust to $170. You can then choose to purchase the card for yourself, in which case you’ll get the code instantly, or you can gift it to someone else, in which case you can choose the delivery date. (Even if you choose delivery today, it may not come instantly.)

PPDG staples 200-170

PPDG also sells on eBay and offered this deal on eBay last week. That deal sold out, but they’re now offering the same deal for purchase directly from Paypal Digital.

While PPDG purchases made on eBay have certain unpublished quantity limits as to how many cards they’ll sell you in total from their entire store, these cards purchased directly from PPDG aren’t part of those limits, apparently.

The Fine Print

  • Discount only works with $200 denomination card
  • No telling when this deal will end
  • Must check out one card at a time
  • Limit five Based on a reader’s comment, it appears the limit is higher than five

Our Verdict

This is a great deal for Staples shopping or merchandise reselling. As for gift card reselling, it won’t work for most since you can’t usually get 85% or even close to that for Staples e-gift cards. Saveya requires physical submission for Staples cards.

PPDG purchases made on eBay have been working to get 5x rewards with the INK cards. Hopefully, Direct PPDG purchases will work for that as well, and it may be worth paying with INK. Let us know if you have success with this.

Quantity Limit

Another question here is the quantity limit. Some had success purchasing five and that seems to be the max allowed. Some couldn’t manage to checkout a single card (Paypal…). Many got something in between: they could checkout but were forced to pay with their bank account; Paypal wouldn’t let them pay with a credit card.

Here are my experiences: Purchase #1 they let me pay with a credit card. Purchase #2 they forced me to a bank account, but they let me ‘Add credit or debit’ so I added a new card to my Paypal account and was able to checkout and pay with the card. Purchase #3 they forced me to a bank account. Waited an hour or two (may have been a midnight reset, though it wasn’t based on PT), and they let me buy 2 more with credit cards already saved in my Paypal account. Purchase #5, they force me to a bank and the ‘Add card’ trick didn’t work anymore.
