LOL Points posted finally in April 2016, from Citigold account opened at the end of July 2015.

Customer Service written responses, after “research” on the case every time:
Oct 2015 — promo requirements met, expect points in early Nov
Dec 2015 — bonus earned, but no TY account exists, need to mail paper W-9 form
Feb 9, 2016 — sorry for wait, posting points today, look in early March
Mar 22, 2016 — TY account was opened only on Feb 10, 2016, posting points today, look in early April

I figured to let anyone who may be waiting for their bonus TYPs to post, I FINALLY received my 40K TY points today on my Citigold account, which I opened at the end of July 2015! Waiting until my inter-institution transfer of my remaining balance clears to my home bank, then I’ll CLOSE the account. I’m not keeping it open just to see if I’d get a $100 discount IF I opened a Prestige CC. This fighting to get this bonus has soured me on Citibank!

I opened Aug. 3rd, and completed both bill pay by Sep 4th was told points would post jan. 3rd. I called Jan. 4th and csr told me 90 business days from Oct. 3rd. Does this sound right? Can I do anything to get points sooner?

Thanks

I called Feb 2nd, they disputed to get 40 k Ty points. I received them 5 business days later. AWESOME!!!! But now I redeemed them for mortgage payment and they said it would take 37,800 points to equate to 300. She said the bank bonus differed from the credit card. I thought this was strange because my Ty credit card gave me a penny per point. Does this sound correct to anyone?

Sounds odd. How about transferring the points to a TY credit card first, and then hopefully getting 1 cent per point. Maybe that will work?

Redemption rates are poor on checking account points vs credit card points. Combine your TY accounts then checking account points also get the better redemption rates.

Samuel, I have to agree, my case parallels your’s, I also completed the offer in Sept, waited the 90 days, and am now told that my last statement ending Jan 3rd ISN’T the Statement that my Bonus TYPs will post on, the Supervisor informed me that would happen in my Feb 4th Statement!…Unbelievable! I’ll wait for them to post to my Premier TYP account and use them to buy AA gift cards or something, I already know I can’t transfer them to my Sing airlines Krisflyer account…this has left a VERY bad taste in my mouth…I HATE Citibank!

I will not be doing this offer again. Way too much trouble and wasted time to get the bonus. I completed the offer on 9/2 and waited the 90 days from the statement date. Now they’re telling me I have to wait until January for the points to post. Why would they make it such a headache to get the bonus? Do they want to turn away their customers? Not to mention the hassle of sending in a tax id form, activating checks, etc. I’ll be redeeming my points and closing the account the second the points post and will be sticking to credit card bonuses from now on. . Stay away from Citibank!
