The standard signup bonus on the Amex Blue Cash Preferred is $150 after spending $1000 within the first 3 months. And $100 for the Blue Cash Everyday after spending $1000 within the first 3 months.
There’s now an increased signup bonus of $200 for the Preferred version and $125 for the Everyday version.
You’ll get the regular $150/$100 bonus for the $1000 in spend within the first 3 months. In addition, you’ll also get $50 after your first purchase with the Preferred version and $25 with the Everyday version. Total bonus will be $200 for Preferred and $125 with Everyday.
It’s advertised as a Universal Studios Theme Park extra bonus, but in reality the terms say clearly that you’ll get the extra $25/$50 bonus after your first purchase anywhere, doesn’t have to be at Universal.
I’ve been waiting for an increased bonus on the Preferred version. Maybe I’ll jump on this, or maybe I’ll wait it out to see if I can get a $250 (or was it $300?) bonus which comes occasionally. The Everyday version also can occasionlly get to $150 or maybe $250 via targeted offer, but if you’re on the fence for either of these cards, it could be an option to take them at this increased bonus of $125/$200.
Remember that Amex now limits personal cards to one signup bonus per lifetime, so consider that when deciding.
