but in my own defense, I take “15% off everything” to mean everything

Target site does not have discounted iTunes gift cards.

Did you not read the article? Chuck says Gift Cards are not included – and then again specifically says iTunes gift cards are excluded. Where did you get the idea that iTunes gift cards would be discounted in this sale?

The portals usually don’t pay out on the categories that I purchase from…however, I’d recommend using the ShopYourWay portal. They advertise 1% back, but oddly enough, I’ve been getting around 10% (even on groceries!). YMMV, but can’t hurt to try.

Also, for online purchases, I’ve been able to pay with a gift card (5% UR at Staples) and still get my 5% RedCard debit card discount..even when the GC covers the entire purchase. YMMV there as well.

Of course, there’s a ton of exclusions. Wanted to buy some Lego sets but those are excluded 🙁 Why do they advertise everything 15% when it clearly isn’t. smdh

Lego is never included in stuff. I picked up some knock of legos at Kmart though – 1000 piece sets for 19.99. Not available online just at one of the stores by me.

@Mike.. This is most impartial site when it comes to credit card. Please do not troll and pass judgement here.

Checked online prices. They are more expensive now then 2 months ago. They had 20% discounted price with occasional additional 10% off. Now they are selling for full price and giving 15% off. This year prices at target prices at Black Friday sale are not worth it. They increased prices 2 weeks ago and now giving less discount then before. I would wait and see what’s going to be on Christmas sale

Shame that this site is becoming a deal/affiliate site now. CC payouts not enough?

Thank you so much for sacrificing time to collect all infos in one place. It has been a great year, and it is really the right time to thank you for all your effort and giving.

Seriously. Ignore this troll.

Not only do you DESERVE revenue from shopping affiliate links for all the money you’ve saved me, but you’re even upfront about it too…

“Use our link to pay the site, or your own portal link to get your own cashback”

This is why I visit your site a few times a day. Seriously the best site online.

This is the furthest thing from an affiliate site. Shame on YOU. There are numerous examples of Will and Chuck putting the readers first. Great example is the Northpointe Bank offer where they passed the entire bonus on to us.

This is the furthest thing from an affiliate site, what are you even talking about?

Isn’t it obvious he doesn’t have a clue? DoC is quite literally the best source for non-affiliate resources.

Mike’s comment made me laugh it was so preposterous.

@Mike, Everyone hates credit card affiliates as it leaves the blogs biased. But this is not the case for DoC. I would be more than happy to click through DoC’s affiliate links, just to show my support, and I do this all the time. I couldn’t think of any other bloggers who put reads first as much as Chuck and William do.

Mike Brim clearly writes or works for a CC-affiliated blog…

We don’t use credit card affiliate links, you can see our reasons why here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/were-removing-all-credit-card-affiliate-links-heres-why/

Chuck also clearly points out that you’re better off going through a portal, links to a site that lists the best options for this specific store and then even mentions the two best portals by name.

In Mike’s defense I don’t think his true complaint was how DoC does or does not earn money. His complaint reads to me to be regarding the number of non-credit related posts on a site named Doctor of CREDIT.

DoC has traditionally been about credit, credit cards and bank bonuses, but an ever-increasing number of posts are (like this one) just about shopping deals.

Yeah, it’s mostly just because it’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Expect to see less of these deals after Monday :).
