[Expired] Chase Southwest: Get Full A-List Status Thru Credit Card Spend + Get Double TQPs (3,000 TQPs Per $10,000 Spend)

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Receive 1,500 additional TQPs for each $10,000 in purchases made on your Rapid Rewards® Premier, Priority, Premier Business or Performance Business Credit Card between the first day of your billing cycle ending in May 2020 and the last day of your billing cycle ending in December 2020.

This first-time ever offer is here to help you get closer to A-List by using your Rapid Rewards Credit Card. The spend on your card gets you double tier qualifying points. Tier qualifying points that get your closer to A-List status and all the perks.

The Fine Print

  • During the promotional period you will earn 1,500 additional Tier Qualifying Points (TQP) on top of the 1,500 TQP you earn for every $10,000 in purchases with your Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Priority, Premier, Premier Business, or Performance Business Credit Card from Chase (“promotional period” means the first day of your billing cycle ending in May 2020 through your last December 2020 statement date).
  • There is no maximum number of TQP that can be earned during the promotional period.
  • Beginning with the day after your December 2020 statement date you will go back to earning 1,500 TQP for each $10,000 in purchases up to $100,000 in purchases annually, which equal 15,000 TQP (“annually” means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and each 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date.)
  • Chase is not responsible for fulfillment of this bonus offer and bonus TQP will post directly to your Southwest Rapid Rewards® account and will not appear on your credit card statement. To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Only the primary cardmember who received this offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion. Offer is non-transferable.
  • TQP are earned from revenue flights booked through Southwest Airlines® or when you, or an authorized user, use the Rapid Rewards® Priority, Premier, Premier Business, or Performance Business Credit Card from Chase to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. TQP earned during a billing cycle on a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Priority, Premier, Premier Business, or Performance Business Credit Card from Chase are not available for qualification for benefits such as A-List and A-List Preferred status until they are posted to your Rapid Rewards® account. The following will not count toward qualification for A-List or A-List Preferred status: Rapid Rewards® program enrollment points; Rapid Rewards reward flights; Rapid Rewards Companion Pass travel; Rapid Rewards partner points except for TQP earned on the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Priority, Premier, Premier Business, or Performance Business Credit Cards from Chase; bonus Rapid Rewards points, unless specifically designated as such; non-revenue travel, unless specifically designated as eligible; stops at intermediate cities on connecting or through flights; and charter flights. TQP are not redeemable for travel on Southwest or through the “More Rewards” site.

Our Verdict

Typically, you earn 1,500 points per $10,000 spend, with a cap of 15,000 points. Now, for 2020, you earn 3,000 (total) per $10,000 spend and there is no cap. You can now reach the full 35,000 points with credit card spend which was never possible in the past.

We’ve already learned prior that all Southwest members will also receive a boost of 15,000 tier qualifying points and 10 flight credits towards A-List & A-List Preferred status.

I think this is a public offer due to the landing page, but not positive. It’s being sent out via email.

It was announced that 15,000 qualifying points toward A-List status have already been granted for everyone, so only 20,000 additional points are needed.

So sounds like A List Preferred can be bought for $240,000?

$190,000. They already announced a couple weeks ago that they are granting everyone 15,000 miles worth of progress toward A-List, so only an additional 55,000 are needed instead of the full 70,000.
