[Targeted] American Express Business Platinum: Get $500 Statement Credit With $2,500 Flights Purchases

The Offer

Check your emails for the following offer on AmEx Business Platinum:

  • Earn a one-time $250 statement credit after using your enrolled eligible Business Platinum Card® to spend a minimum of $2,500 USD in one or more qualifying purchases of flights booked directly with airlines or through American Express Travel by 6/17/2025. Excludes third party booking sites and travel agencies. See terms.
  • Others got $500 with $2,500 spend

Our Verdict

Nice deal if targeted. There’s a similar targeted credit card signup offer deal like this for $500; the deal we’re discussing here is a targeted offer for existing Business Platinum cardholders to get $250 with $2,500 in Travel spend. You can also try stacking with an AmEx Offer deal on airfare, if that comes up.

United Travel Bank purchases over $100 triggered this for me.

Book refundable ticket with airline of your choice to receive credit, then book $2500 of other airfare during the year with that same airline, then cancel refundable ticket. This should preserve the credit, though it’s not guaranteed.

in other news — get 10% off $2,500 in purchases.

doesn’t sound so exciting when phrased this way

I think you misunderstood him. He’s just rephrasing the 250 off 2500. Its not a separate offer at 10% off up to $250

If you make a business platinum booking using points it triggers this offer. Because the card gets charged and then refunded. Offer posted by me. Not sure if it’s gonna get clawed back or not.

Terms explicitly exclude it, expect RAT to sit on it.

Are you sure this is in addition to the offer found in amex offers?

Will seat upgrades purchased with the airline qualify? I’ve got a cross country flight on United I’d like to upgrade to first class.

Worked for me with an American flight. Flight was purchased with points, then I paid a cash upgrade to premium Economy and the $500 triggered.

Can we book an airline, for instance, Alaska Airlines, cancel that booking, and receive that as a travel credit added to Alaska Airlines?
