Does anybody know if using with Upside app, will the WF 20% deals still work? TIA!

No reason it shouldn’t. I’ve used Upside with Chase offers.

asteroid should have no issue. Upside just looks for the pump purchase, it is unaffected by merchant credits which come later.

are we only allowed to fill up the vehicle once or can we fill it up multiple times up to $100?

Car 1 has 11 gal tank.
Car 2 has 18 gal tank.
2x Gas cans hold 6 gal. and 3 gal.
87 octane pump price at our Kroger is $3.14.
I can theoretically max out this offer.
Would prefer buying a gift card at a store like Sheetz.

That would be more than what is needed to get the $20. Sorry you have to fill up so much to maximize this offer. I can almost max it out with one car, I am just 6 gal short, since regular gas here is around $4.69/gal .

Enrico SOZ Go to walmart and get a 5 gallon gas can which will cost ya $30. Yes, you are spending $30 to get a few extra bucks BUT there are benefits:

You’ll be prepared for any future deal that requires a minimum spend (e.g. a recent Citi BP gas offer required $50 minimum spend to trigger). You’ll save on consternation from your wife when you get to fill two cars in one trip and don’t have to bother her to ever fill your cars in tandem – it won’t be a FULL fill of the second car but enough to hold it over until the next time to fill up.You’ll be prepared for a blackout.

I literally filled up at Costco before learning about this offer. Added it while charge is pending…

I’m confused (no surprise there). Do convenience stores such as 7-11, Circle K, Speedway, etc. that obviously sell a lot of gas, eligible for this offer?

Terms say “Non-gas purchases are not eligible” so all you can do is try it. Last WF offer I did, it took about a week to get a redemption email so might be enough time to test it out.

they probably can tell if you used it inside or at pump. Different coding. Certain convenience stores in CT code as gas inside or out, I checked my Discover card last week. Bought a buttered roll (gave it to my neighbor) for 2.19. It coded as “gas” Same as pre pandemic days. They also sell VGC also!!

The two 7-Elevens near me don’t have gas pumps, but they are coded by Citi as gas.

Rusty Nail Frey So far, I’ve only ever tested WF’s gas coding on non-gas at Wawa and Exxon. And in both cases it coded as gas no problem. Exxon was for service where I had to pay inside – the purchase literally shows as Exxon. Wawa was for food inside, again, showed as gas.

I used Chase Freedom during gas quarter (5x earn) at Royal Farms and the convenience store coded as gas.

So in all likelihood you should be fine. Just finding a gas station that sells gift cards is the challenge. BP, Shell and Wawa all accept gift cards for gas (you can get BP and Shell at most stores/pharmacies that sell gift cards). I think Gulf does too, but who has Gulf around? Supposedly Exxon sells gift cards – I’ve never seen them on gift card racks so they must be sold at Exxon convenience.

I got this deal! I guess me having two cards with them played a role in my targeting?

Could one purchase for example a$100 7-Eleven gift card and receive the $20 cashback?

As I stated above, WF can tell if you bought gas or used it inside. I would not chance it. Chase Freedom and Disc code the 7/11 as gas inside or out. Even if they do not sell gas. My 7/11’s near me do not sell gas but code as gas.

Can we use Bilt card to trigger the offer?

Co-branded cards like Bilt are not eligible for Wells Fargo Deals.

Thanks!
Since there is no way I can get to $100 on a fill-up and because I want to maximize this deal, I plan on buying a $100 gas gift card.
