American Airlines has announced an interline partnership with Starlux. Unfortunately you can’t redeem American Airline miles on Starlux as of this partnership, but that might change in the future. This partnership allows single ticket booking between the airlines and follows on from Starlux announcing flights from Taipei to Phoenix (Phoenix is a hub of American Airlines).
Hat tip to /r/awardtravel
Hopefully we can redeem Starlux from AAdvantage soon.
I just flew starlux j lax-tpe with 75k AS and it was one of the best business class I ever flew
I am seeing these for 85K AS out of PHX. How many miles did you use?
Starlux announced that they plan on joining oneworld in the future, so this totally makes sense.
That’s actually really good news! Ideally, we earn (and redeem) AA points/LPs. Taiwan is beautiful country; and Taipei is an amazing city. Highly recommend the Elephant Mountain (Xiangshan) trail. You know, turns out it’s not always bad news (devaluations, increased annual fees, etc.) on here; sometimes we get lucky!
hilarious. just shows u how travel influencers fuck over sheep vs real education.
doesnt matter how clearly doc says INTERLINE. everyone still thinks this is a reciprocal award booking partnership. ok. u go do that.
im also gonna try to transfer my amex MR points over to chase UR so i can book AA using chase portal for 1.5 CPP before OCT.
Why chase? Just use the capital one 30% transfer bonus to AA miles, and fly first class to Tokyo on ANA’s “The Room” for $16
omg dude. thats genius. now im gonna triple match my kenya plat to AA plat to ANA plat so i can open up award availability on ANA to transfer my capital one star alliance miles to AA then book the bedroom for the price of starbucks. amazing suggestion. thank you for just the tip.
Maybe because Cap one points don’t transfer to AA miles?
Yeah I was going to say!! I really want to get a sign up bonus or find a way to get AA miles, I have so many Chase UR points. Citi won’t approve me for the AA card and it makes me so mad.
You can get the Strata Elite card now you can transfer TYP to AA
I just got denied for the Citi AA card 2 weeks ago, so not sure they would approve me for the Strata. I’m at 1/12 and 3/24, with an 810 score – they said I didn’t have enough credit history (which I asked them to elaborate, and they said my new Chase card I got 6 months ago might be too new, not enough history for it). Pretty annoyed. Thanks for the suggestion though, I might try it in the future!
Whoosh
Language!
time to rack up those easy B aviator cards oh boy more calling coming to close existing cards first
Starlux is getting a lot of good reviews and is a rising star of the latest Asian airlines. Hope this is a good move by AA and signaling more East Asia focus.
I can picture it now.
Email subject: Get even MORE value with your AAdvantage miles and Starlux!
Email fine print: Award pricing will be based on availability, demand, and location instead of a fixed chart, unlocking even more possibilities for your miles.
This isn’t delta skypesos tbh
I take it you’ve never looked at Starlux award prices on AS?
