American Express Blue Business Cash Card $500 Sign Up Bonus Available

Update 6/8/21: Available on referrals again. Share & find referrals here.

Update 4/7/21: Available again, this time not available via referrals. Hat tip to YAR.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (might need to open the link in incognito mode and might not always show up)

  • American Express is offering a bonus of up to $500. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • $250 after you spend $5,000 within the first six months
    • $250 after you spend an additional $10,000 within the first year

Card Details

  • Card earns 2% cash back on all purchases for the first $50,000 in spend every year, then 1% cash back on all purchases
  • No annual fee
  • 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months

Our Verdict

This is the first sign up bonus we’ve seen on this card. If you can get the bonus to show and meet the $15,000 minimum spend requirement I do think it’s worth going for. I doubt we see a bonus bigger than $500 anytime soon and while the minimum spend requirement is somewhat high at least the card also earns 2% back on those purchases in addition to the sign up bonus. I’ll be adding this to our list of the best business credit card bonuses.

I’m seeing $250 on $3k spend/3 months, 0% for 12 billing cycles
On the referral thread it’s $250 on $5k spend/6 months

Incognito it’s $500/$8k spend, and in incognito the referral offer is the same as non incognito, $250/$5k spend

I’ve had this card for about 1.5 years. One thing I really like about it is that the cash back auto posts every month as a statement credit. Nice to immediately get the cash without hoops to jump through for redemption

This offer appears to be dead. Only 250 bonus on 3000 spend in 3 months appears to be available.

I’m seeing a referral offer for:
$250 after $5k spend in 6 months
$250 after another $5k spend in the first year.
So the total package is $500 for $10k spend, significantly easier than the previous $500/$15k. Public offer seems to be $250/$5k in 3 months.

I just got a mailer for a preapproval on this, with the $250/250 $15000 spend offer. In the meantime I already have 5 biz cards I think (Biz plat, Marriott biz, Hilton biz, Delta plat biz, and then for work I’m an AU on another Marriott biz). Problem is that my only MR card right now is the biz plat, which I want to cancel (lame retention offer) in beginning of January. None of the other ones are >1 yr, can’t cancel those. I keep getting the pop up on personal cards.

Looks like the extra $250 is now gone and it is only $250 after spending 3K. Need to update this as you can’t get $500 as of now.

I got the $500 bonus in about 6 months. Threw business expenses on the card and tax payments (effectively no fee.) Also got a few $50 bonuses, thank you everyone!

I’m not a huge churner. This card is better than the 1% bank card I used and a bit more pleasant to deal with. I’ll keep daily driving this, it’s nice.

I had my wife refer me for this. When I applied I got this message:

Gerald, based on your history with American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive this welcome offer.

We have not yet performed a credit check. Would you still like to proceed?

Of course I said no.

Apparently they don’t like the fact that I had a Business Gold and an SPG Business card a few years ago that I closed when the AF came due. I also had an SPG personal card that I closed after a few years.

Amex recently sent out an (targeted?) email for this offer, with the difference that it is 15k in 1 year, rather than the split that it is now. It also include the Blue Plus for 50k for 15k/1yr spend
