American Express Business Platinum Changes: $695 Annual Fee, $400 Dell Credit, $120 Wireless Credit & More

As rumored American Express has added new benefits to the Business Platinum card and increased the annual fee to $695. Changes are as follows:

  • Annual fee increasing to $695 (from $595). New annual fee applies on applications received after 1/13/2022 (same applies to existing cardholders)
  • $150 Adobe Creative Solutions credit
  • $400 Dell credit
  • $360 Indeed credit
  • $120 Wireless credit
  • Card earns 1.5x points per $1 spent on construction/hardware stores, electronic goods, and shipping

Seems like the landing pages are still being updated, but I’ll have more to say about each benefit once all of the details are clear. We are also supposed to see increased offers on both the personal platinum and business platinum cards.

Planning to buy $200 + tax Monitor. Does it trigger $200 statement credit and other dell offers ($50 off $100 and 10% cb)? Not sure which offer takes precedent and makes other offers redundant?

Just bought a cheap Dell laptop to resell to capture the $200 credit. Had a 10% back on up to $1,500 at Dell offer loaded on the card too. Anyone have a datapoint on getting 2 credits: $200 credit as well as a separately loaded offer like X$ back on $x or x% back on $x?

Walter Yeah, they stack. To capture the full $200 credit, your total needs to be $200+ after the 10% off, so your order needs to be $222.22+.

Appreciate you confirming for me. Spent just under $300. Should be good then.

I did indeed get a credit for $200 and a separate credit for 10% of the total.

Has anyone been able to split payments with Adobe across multiple biz plat cards? No obvious way to do it online but haven’t tried a phone call, if that is even a sales option.

Quick DP:

Recently tried charging some upgrade (e.g. more monhtly MB’s to use) to my FreedomPop phone account, charge showed up at Amex as FREEDOMPOP* FREEDOMPTHOUSAND OAKS CA, but it didn’t get reimbursed.

Still haven’t found a way to use this wireless credit wihtout having a regular monthly phone/internet bill, so the $10 sadly stays unused each month for my multiple Amex Business Platinum cards… 🙁

Any DP on Adobe credit? The cheapest option seems to be $203 for Acrobat and most of us who use LR or PS are better of with a personal version.

Is anyone’s wireless credit posting?

I would be especially interested to know if anyone’s Verizon credit or gift card worked?

Previously I had used for 8 or so months the Marriott Business $15 credit by buying a Verizon gift card. However so far my October Verizon Gift Card purchase for both my plat biz cards and my Marriott biz card have not posted.

Brian C 🐕 did you ever find a good way to use this wireless credit and actually receive the credit?
(if your Verizon purchase worked, can you please link me to the exact website where you bought the GC…)

TIA 🙂

Jay - ⒿⒶⓨ 🙈 🙉 🙊 I’m still struggling with this due to the fact that Verizon doesn’t technically even accept amex cards anymore. I spoke to my Verizon rep who suggested I go to a physical store and try it there, which I did. So last month I charged p1 and p2 cards $10 at the kiosk at the local corporate store. The charge went through but I haven’t gotten either credit. I believe it posted as hardware or equipment, so i don’t think it will work. Its been 8 days.

Have you had any luck?

I’ve been holding off on a purchase these past few weeks because I wasn’t sure if the Dell increase from $100 to $200 kicked in yet. The site said $200 was “pending”. Amex sent an email this morning about the deal, and the site now says $200 and ready to use. Was it always $200 since the announcement, or when exactly did it start? My renewal is in December..

Dell: ordered 11/17, got $200 credit 11/21.

T-Mobile charged $10 on 11/7 and got nothing.
