The Offer
We’re familiar with Amex Offers which offer a statement credit for spending a certain amount of money. A different kind of offer also comes up occasionally which offers extra rewards at certain retailers. One recent example we had was an offer on Blue Cash cards to enroll for an extra 2% cashback at Whole Foods Market. That offer was specific to Blue Cash cards.
Amex has been promoting a different offer of 2x Membership Rewards (MR) points on Amex cards which earn MR. Some of them are for popular retailers, and all are only for online purchases.
There is no signup page for these offers; you need to save them in your Amex login. They appear alongside the other Amex Offers. Here’s a list of the available retailers:

Our Verdict
I found all of them in my login, and I’d guess that this is the kind of offer which all Amex MR cards will have available to enroll in. Some of the retailers are popular merchants and it could be useful to earn 2x MR points. Of course, it would depend on how you value your MR points as to whether it’s worthwhile.
It sounds like this is only for certain cards. You stated that it is for 2X MR points, so I would assume that many cards will not qualify (Hilton, SPG, Costco, Business OPEN, etc.).
