[Expired] AmEx Offers: Get 20% Back At Lidl Grocery Stores (Max $10 Back)

Update 11/6/24: Deal is back through 12/31/24.

The Offer

Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:

  • Get 20% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make purchases in-store at Lidl by 3/7/2023. Limit of $10 back in total statement credits.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid in-store only at participating locations in the US.
  • Excludes international locations and mobile app purchases.

Our Verdict

Grocery stores offers are the best. Save the offer on a card which earns a high rate at the Grocery Store to maximize. This deal also stacks well with the upcoming gift card deal to get a $20 shopping coupon when you buy $100 in select gift cards (or possibly any gift card) at Lidl from 12/14- 12/20.

Love these in Europe. Of course this offer is useless there.

Anyone know if this will stack with the Tap to Pay at U.S. Supermarkets offer?

Offers like that should stack. I just had one for AMC+ that stacked with cable/internet.

Nothing for Aldi.. common! I think they’re owned by the same company. No Lidl around me, but tons of Aldi.

They are not part of the same parent company. However, they are both German. Aldi is owned by the same parent, Albrechts, as Trader Joe’s. Lidl is owned by the Schwarz Group.

Not only are they not related, they are each other’s main competitors in markets in which they both operate. Lidl has been playing catch-up with Aldi in the US in terms of number of stores.

IMHO, Lidl’s in-store bakery gives it the edge (49 cent butter croissants, what’s not to love!)

Can someone share how they manage these Amex offers? Long time back, I dont know why but I registered my each Amex card under a different online id. So now, they all see their own offers.
Is that the best way to manage them or should I register them all under the same id?

For a few years, it’s been one per customer (SSN, I think), regardless of how you do it. So different IDs, or different windows, don’t work.

I have one online ID with all my amex cards, 4 in total. I hardly use my hilton card so I always add offers to it I know I will never use. Once I do that, the offers disappear from all other cards, so it cleans it up in a sense. I then add offers to the cards that i will get the most value from. For example, I added my delta offers to my platinum since I’ll get 5x back on airlines and i would add this Lindl to my gold for 4x back and so on…

Are you able to save the same offer on multiple cards? If they’re under the same id you won’t be able to do that. Once saved on a card, it disappears on the others
